This is the reason I will never live in a neighborhood with an HOA. I refuse to have someone tell me what kind of mailbox to have, what type of fence (out of three) I can have, cars have to be in the garage, nothing in the driveway, etc. I will do with my house and my property as I see fit, within the zoning codes.

This homeowners association sounds like they want to control what people think when the put language like "divisive". Who decides what is divisive? I do not see a peace sign as divisive or a symbol of Satan (morons). I think she should take the wreath down and spell out peace with Christmas lights on her lawn or house. That surely cannot be considered divisive. It is the spirit of the season.

Oh wait, I forgot. heaven forbid we put anything up that portrays Christmas lest we offend anyone driving by who does not subscribe to the belief. (those type of people can stick it where the sun doesn't shine)

In the spirit of diversity and the hope for World Peace (regardless of political position), I would hope anyone who believes in taking this wreath down will take the time to think "What is next?". Should we ban songs with Peace in them too? Should the Gap recall their Holiday Ad campaign -- "Peace, Love & Gap"? I certainly wouldn't think so and would hope not.

Although everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I would hope that someone who feels so strongly as to ban a peace symbol might consider seeking to understand it rather than demanding to abolish it.

My wife and I were going to by a lot and build a house in a small subdivision until we meet with the homeowner's association. They had THREE pages of rules. We would have to get permission for someone to stay overnight. Vehicles could be no more than ten years old, etc.. This was a lot that I would buy and build MY OWN home. I flat out told them they were morons and I would NEVER buy or build a house in a place like that. NO ONE can tell me how to live.

Sometimes people are so stupid, especially homeowners associations. The homeowners association in this story are a prime example of just how stupid people can be.

Incidently, the symbol they are referring to (the pentacle/pentagram) is not a "devil symbol" either. People, please take the time to educate yourself before shooting your mouth off.

This is the most ridiculous thing I have heard of. Leave the peace sign alone people. What harm can it possibly be doing. People are getting crazier and crazier every day. I hope the upcoming generations will stop all this B*S* that is going on in this country.
