Most all the people looked the same but I know there was a call out for ex-military to come support Occupy all over the country. I would not doubt there were some there. A couple hundred people took the fence down because most of us wanted to leave it up. The group thought it might be a police trap and most of us cannot afford to be injured or arrested in another Police Thug Riot.

So Goofy you ARE a socialist. You worked for the government military and now get VA and other government benefits. BTW it turns out 70% of the 99% have jobs and 92% of them have at least some college education.

Besides the major unions, Progressive Democrats, Democracy for American, Common Cause, many, many more organizations as well as MoveOn are part of the 99%. Just like you all.

Whirling Dervish
(n.) A person whose behavior resembles a rapid, spinning object. These actions are often spastic fidgeting and incessant babbling. The actions of the whirling dervish are irritating and annoying, often exhausting other people in the immediate vicinity.

You just made me laugh out loud George! I'll admit to spinning, fidgeting, and I can only hope I'm irritating and annoying and ultimately exhausting you! : )

Went to Occupy Oakland last night to commiserate with folks about the Police Riots the night before. Also to hear what they are planning and what they need to set it up again. I told someone there that the 99% Movement craps bigger than Oakland.

There were about 3,000 people there and we took the fence down. By today there were already tents up.

That's a real patriotic statement Goofy... you want to see your fellow Americans injured just because you don't agree with them... you need to get a life... preferably in some other country.

by abnrgrcsmwithacib I feel bad for the Marine but he needs to understand who he's siding with - OWS is made of of all the far left freaks - from Socialist to Marxist to Anti-Semite - Druggers, Ananchrists, SDS, theives and all funded by corrupt Unions, George Soros, MoveOn and directed by Acorn -- I'm afraid Ms Zann this will sooner or later end in bloodshed

----- cut here -----

Conservative propaganda, 50% fact free.

1) You probably do feel bad for the Marine.

2) OWS is not made up of "all far leftists. http://www.fastcompany.com/1789018/occupy-wall-street-demographics-statistics

3) OWS is not funded by Soros, MoveOn or directed by Acorn - that's pure conservative BS, debunked and refuted dozens of times.

4) You are probably afraid it will end in bloodshed. I disagree, but you are entitled to your opinion.

abnrgrcsmwithacib I am not a lady. And it is unfortunate that you would rather commit murder against your fellow citizens than listen to a constitutionally lawful protest. medals or not, you belong in psychiatric care.

EmpireGeorge: I am not the decider of what is truth. I am only refuting and highlighting the use of false statements and inaccurate facts.

Truth is a more slippery quantity than facts.
arthanyel replies:

Killing innocent civilians that are exercising their constitutional rights is murder, abnrgrcsmwithacib. That's the law. And "defending your home from a pack of scum" is only self defense if they are actually threatening you - shooting a weaponless burgler is also murder (or at least manslaughter).

It is sad that people exercising their constitutional right to protest economic injustice moves you to think of murder.

by EmpireGeorge: Do you have a younger brother that hijacks your nickname while you're out? Because in some cases you make complete sense, giving excellent conservative positions and points of view, on the other hand you are a complete ignoramus with the other comments.

----- cut here -----

Nope, it's all me. And the reason you seem to see a discrepancy is because I am neither a liberal extremist nor a conservative extremist, I am an independent that thinks everyone is right some of the time, and I support the things I believe in regardless of where they come from.

I am not anti-conservative. I am anti-propaganda. I admit that I am human and sometimes I see propaganda more often if I disagree with it :-) I also believe that conservatives tend to use more propaganda than liberals (they both do it, of course). But the bottom line is that everyone should stick to the facts and then we can have a rational discussion.

For example: Conservatives say Obama's first stimulus bill was a complete failure. This is propaganda - by demonstrable evidence it had some success. At the same time, I rarely see a conservative that says "It partially worked, but over $250B was spent on things that had nothing to do with stimulus, there was substantial waste and fraud involved, and the results we did get might have been accomplished at half the cost". THOSE statements aren't propaganda. The first and second points are facts. The third is opinion, but with some strong factual support.

That's what makes me annoyed - why stoop to irrational propaganda when there are so many actual facts available? And why support EITHER Democrats or Republicans along party lines, why support specifically policies and people that make sense, and fight the others.

If you want to debate whether OWS protests are being carried out in the best way, you have a lot of facts. Poor sanitation in many locations is a fact for example. But my quesitn to you is about the message itself - are they protesting the wrong things? And I don't mean the propaganda about "socialism" and "wealth sharing" (because they are NOT saying that) I mean actual things like re-implementing Glass-Steagall and investigating the Federal Reserve. I think many conservatives agree with those, and we should focus on common ground for the positives and factual debates for the negatives - not insults or propaganda.

greco99-2009 says:
Shooting a tear gas canister directly at an individual is an incorrect and improper use of very dangerous weapon -- done intentionally it is attempted murder or murder.

Throwing a concussion grenade at rescuers is perhaps worse, it contributes to the serious of a potentially grave injury and is intended to terrorize people, including innocent rescuers and aid givers.

I believe there will be criminal charges and civil lawsuits against the cowardly officers who did this - these officers disgrace their profession in front of the entire world.

I will add to the above comment that those police supervisors who set the stage here may bear some responsibility. There appears to have been faulty training, officers working outside their jurisdiction, improper selection of police weapons. This was not supposed to be a free fire zone was it?

No there's not enough! Because the rich people got a fricken tax BREAK while we fought two wars!!! Because rich people find creative loopholes that keep them from paying their fricken taxes at ALL!!! Yep that would cause a shortage in revenues!

There's only so much of it.
Yes the top 1% lining their ceilings with gold DOES make it more difficult for you to get YOUR hands on enough gold to also line your ceilings! But would you for just one moment think about those that would like just a small amount of that to get some FOOD or some Medicine????
