hey everybody,
read mercury69's comments.
this person is living proof that the government is slowly programing the people to except this nazi style government they want.
i hope mercury69 pull's their head out of their butt and open their eyes and really see's what's going.
i bet they wouldn't be saying the things he/she is saying if it happened to them.
as for mercury69, when the revolution starts, you better not make those kind of statements openly because the people will consider you the enemy.

thank god for the 1st amendment!!!(or what's left it that is)

She should have told them she was not going to answer any questions, period. That is her right under the US Constitution. I would have. Yes, I know that doing that would have turned a 4 hour detention into a 24 hour detention - but it would have really pissed off the FBI and Homeland Security people because it would have forced them to actually do their job and do a background check. Then when I was let out I would have told all of them they were cok $uckers. It would have been worth it.

The fact is that Homeland and FBI screwed up. While all of them were wasting their 4 hours strip searching this woman and questioning her, I'm sure that several real criminals, drug smugglers and the like - were walking past, unhampered.

Actually, at the point that I would be ordered to disrobe, they'd get a loud "Go to hell" from me.
Then, if the force the issue, it would be The United States of Wzrd1 after I and my attorneys were done with the US government in court.
Of course, I DO remember the LAST time they ran me in the database. A lot of profuse apologies were promptly issued... :)

She was in the wrong place, at the wrong time and it's just her crappy luck. Like I tell my kids, life's not fair so stop whining about every bad break.

She received sincere apologies, now move on.

So, if they shot her instead and apologized, it was OK?
If they destroyed her baggage and property, then apologized, it was OK?
Wow! So, the constitution is now null and void!
Fascinating! I better e-mail my buddies still downrange, they can go home now, as the constitution gave the brass power and now that power is null and void!

She's totally within her rights to complain and while she has received apoligies, her civil rights WERE violated. This entire idea of submitting to whatever the TSA does is outrageous. Their methods of locating terrorists are not working and there is no evidence whatsoever that any actions by the TSA have ever resulted in foiling a terrorist. None. Passengers and intell from other governments and action and intell from average citizens on the street have helped prevent terrorists from succeeding when real threats have been pinpointed but not this nonsense. I mean really-people in the bathroom? A woman with a "funny furin' sounding name? What a waste. Real terrorists could be getting away while we erroneously target the innocent.

The Constitution guarantees us certain rights and we are foolishly allowing the TSA to take them away.

They use dangerous technology or you can submit to being groped. Both are completely unacceptable. FOr ten years people have been encouraging our government to use the Israeli system of two people at the desk when you check into an airport, one to look over and process your paperwork and one who asks you questions and evaluates you on whether you are legit or not. It's worked for the Israelis and that's what we should be doing right now. It's more effective and it's cheaper.

If you put handcuffs on someone, you had better have a pretty good reason to do so. This is overreaction. I commend the air staff for noticing the extra loo time, but I don't commend the reaction.

She was sitting with 2 men that were acting oddly. So they could have been together, even though they weren't.

I understand your point, but that could have been cleared up quickly, without the humiliation of cuffs, being locked up, strip searched, detained for four hours. That, my friend, is over the top.

How do you know what's over the top? Her version is that she was completely innocent. Wow, what a surprise that is. She sees a money grabbing lawsuit opportunity her version is tainted.

If they held her, it was for a damn good reason(s) I can assure you of that.
busterdawggy replies:

And what good reason might that be? Enlighten me. Remember, the FBI apologized directly to her. She did nothing wrong. I doubt she was thinking lawsuit when she was cuffed and marched off the plane. Remember, she did nothing to instigate this. You sound paranoid.

It is amazing that people are justifying a strip search of someone that had not even been arrested...but then no cop in their right mind would arrest someone for *nothing*. I feel sorry for all those who live in such fear that they will allow anyone with any authority to strip-search them (but no pity for all those who think it will only happen to someone else).

I hope everyone involved pays dearly for their fascist behavior, and if that means cash for her, good.

Funny, mercury, I was detained at the airport while on leave, with my CENTCOM ID, US Army military ID, classified item courier card and a bunch of other official documents. I got the enhanced screening, complete with a scrotum squeeze. That was a GREAT reception home!
For the rest of that near 5 year deployment, I stopped coming home on leave.
Know what I'd have told them if they told me to disrobe?
GO TO HELL.
Period.
And if they detained me like they did her, I WOULD sue.

Their "damned good reason" was because they could and they're the gang that can't shoot straight.
AOCGUY replies:

Yup mercury, screw getting home on time and being with familiy, I want to be detained and groped so I can sue. I'm sure everyone must think like that - NOT, What a moron!

@mecury69, as much as I hate lawsuits it will eventually be a big lawsuit that nearly bankrupts an airline that will stop this practice.

I say she sues the pants off of them.

fisher1949 says:
It is reprehensible that an innocent citizen is wrongfully handcuffed, strip searched and detained six hours merely for flying on an airline. The FBI quickly realized that she wasn't a threat and released her, so why wasn't this investigation conducted before they strip searched and jailed her? This woman was seriously abused because of false allegations and mishandling by incompetent officials.

This episode is one of several unfounded over-reactions in the past week that resulted from DHS induced hysteria and propaganda. They used 9/11 as an excuse to further harass and molest the traveling public and justify their bloated budgets.

This sort of malicious Government conduct is unacceptable and must be prosecuted. TSA and DHS are a national disgrace and the degenerates responsible for this disgusting violation of her rights should face criminal charges and held liable for her damages. She should also sue TSA, DHS and Frontier Airlines.

Every organization is responsible for the conduct of their employees, except TSA and DHS. Military and law enforcement personnel are held to strict codes of conduct but there is none for TSA. While security is vital, it is not without limits. Air travel security is not a "safety at any price" proposition. If that is the case then simply shut down the airlines.

9/11 revealed the sad reality of modern America's lack of character and morality. Too many citizens have been willing to exchange their most basic human rights for an empty promise of security. It is tragic that America has so readily forfeited the liberties that many have died to preserve in a pathetic display of cowardice.

Hey dingbats,

It has nothing to do with race. If Sweden was turning out the terrorists those with blond hair and blue eyes ACTING SUSPICIOUSLY would be questioned.

She was not arrested or charged with anything. She was investigated for suspicious activity. Deal with it.

=============

Read the story. She was not engaged in any suspicious activity at all. She was minding her own business.
