Start drafting young men and women into the armed services; there will be a larger percentage of mature, sane, and leadership quality soldiers. "We are at war" at home and in the Mideast.
If we don't like this world the way it is then lets practice a policy of non interference and focus on raising good children here at home.

Give us a break. You can find bad apples in every population including the military. Even if 99% of a population are good people, you still have the 1% who are trouble. This is true in schools, churches, business, or any occupation or profession. The military is no exception.

Add to these two the 21 year-old soldier/perve from TX who lured a 14 year-old girl (with the mental capacity of a much younger child) to run away with him. An all volunteer army seems to have to take society's dregs. Guys like this are a dishonor to the uniform and the country.

Many are there because there are no jobs, not because they are society's dregs. I do agree if guilty they dishonor the uniform and this country.

The story is very vague at its best information rendered. What we want to know is this .. WHY are these two military servicemen being held for the alledged murder of a 12th grade student-CHILD. What was their motive? Why are two (20) year old military men hanging out with a high school student in the first place? Or was this a random hate crime? Lets go and kill someone we don't like in today's society? A Jew? Black?, Female? Gays?, etc., If the both of them are found guilty as CONVICTED and sentenced to the highest level> to prevail justice for the victim and family. What say you? Just because you are a military personnel who's TRAINED TO KILL.. doesn't give you credence.. or the LICENSE for TWO military personnel to murder a 12th grade student .. no matter the cost or reason and then discard the victim's body like trash along side the road? That alone tells me they knew what they did was intentional, an act to cover up the murder committed. Two against one is never fair upon a challenge. AS a parent do you know the video games your kids are playing? The video games that allows your kids to engage in killing off people in the game> as a game player? Then we wonder why our kids are killing kids and being killed by other children and slightly older teenagers. Violence! violence! Violence is ingrained in our children from birth. From toy guns given to male kids .. to female kids are taught to get down in the dirt and fight boys> where sibling brothers are supposed to protect their sister(s)not physically fight with your sister or vice-versa .. then bullies kids are ALLOWED to beat on their siblings ..and in some cases have murdered their classmates in school. One thing my parents was adamant about with their children, we were not to physically fight or inflict harm to each other as siblings(EVER) and if you did? There was a penalty that you didn't want to receive.

agreed! I am nervous about video game violence and do think there is something to it that desensitives avid gamers to killing. My boyfriend plays video games but wasn't "raised" on them so perhaps he doesn't have the same damage... but after seeing some of the games for 5 minutes I was disgusted. Prostitutes, sexual language and inuendos, murder, blood, gorey images...it was horrendous. Before we have children we will have to have a talk about our policy concerning video games.

let me help you out a bit from the other side of the street the two soldiers were not much older than the student. and a better question why was a "rising star doing leaving home after 10 on a sun to even encounter these soldiers. and what hate crime comes from an asian and a mexican? and as for dumping the body it just lets you know they were dumb and you dont know if more people were involved or any of the circumstances. and what does a video game have to do with anything 1 two members of the military are obviously trained and expected to kill in the right circumstances and a 12 grader with tats who throws up gang signs and is a self described "neighborhood pharmasist" according to his facebook. so obviously there was a lot of ignorance all around but blaming video games is like blaming china for making toys with defaults.
