One Arrested During Sheehan-Led Protest At Texas Republican Event

History is full of dictators who stood firm on their beliefs...please!
Try thinking for yourself for a while. Turn off FoxNews and dissemenate info from some others sources.
This President is the worst of the modeern era...

- aishteru,
It's easy to complain, but much much harder to develop a workable plan of your own and then see to it's execution. Sheehan is just another complainer. She is not bright enough to offer an alternative solution...just whine and complain...just a stain on her son's memory. I hate to say it but that is why the Dems lost in the last election. (Before anyone jumps on me I am an Indie.) All I heard out of the likes of Kerry was more complaining, no solutions, no better plan. If you can't lead or lack a better plan, you simply complain about the current leader's performance and hope that the people are dumb enough to listen to you and fall for it. (And to think that one man or woman can fix it all anyway is ludicrous).
Dems...take note. If you want it back, quit the *******'. Start electing some talent with some new ideas. Propose solutions and explain your plan..and for Godsakes don't pander. Don't worry, most folks are smarter than you think and can follow along with you. Also, do you really want the likes of Kerry, Kenedy, Pelosi, and Looney Tunes Dean speaking for you? Oh yeah, Clinton doesn't stand a chance. Spend your time on a more marketable candidate. Someone without a negative history. - Reply to this comment
- It's so obvious that this president has been so much more flawed than his predecessors, including his own father.
He not only lacks the refinement and eloquence, every day it becomes more and more apparent that his leadership is equally flawed.
George W. Bush is the Jimmy Carter of Republican presidents, except when Carter's use of military failed miserably, it was only a couple of helicopters that went down in the sand, and not billions spent and thousands dead, with an occupied country spiraling into civil war.
Some conservatives just can't see the obvious, even when it's staring them in the face. - Reply to this comment
- This is a thought to all.
I do not understand why people complain about our President doing the things he does. I may or may not be able to do a better job, for I know there is none perfect. If you think, %u201Cwho ever you are,%u201D can do a better job, why don%u2019t you run for president? At least the Presidents stands firm on his beliefs.
Now for those who say that the President killed their children. I would think he did not, for we are not in draft situation like wars in our past. People volunteer to the Oath of enlistment, %u201Cand that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God." You see, they volunteered just as I did when I enlisted. So why complain about what your child wanted to do. Please, do not take me wrong, when my daughter enlisted, I did not want her to, but I could not stop her. Moreover, she has been injured once and wants to go to Iraq. It bothers me deeply, but she is doing something she believes in and I will back her and all of our military, whether I believe in what they are doing or not. - Reply to this comment

Please ... spare me the big macho Marine stuff!
Been there! Done that! Nobody who is sane wants war. Let alone to fight for oil...please. That is sooo archaic and absurd. The link above shows that oil as a fuel is obselete and that viable alternatives do exist. That can be delivered to market more readily and cheaper also.
Read and become enlightened my friend! If Brazil can do it you telling we cannot? I'm telling you that the "Powers that be" don't want to do it.
We simply need to cut our dependency on this stuff. Will not happen as long as we keep electing politicians that maintain the "status quo".
Vote them out people!

- It'll be easy to find better leadership.

- Whiners..Are you sitting there reading this actually convinced that you know a better way to run the country? So what if we DO have to fight for oil? What if it was suddenly denied us...complete oil embargo? How would that affect your life? Would you be able to survive, would you be able to make it to work (if your job still existed), pay your bills? Would the food that you couldn't grow yourselves make it to your table? How would you get the clothes on your back...weave them and with what? Would you be able to defend yourself and your home from being taken from you by thugs that have no home because they can't get the materials to build one? Think about what would happen to this country of yours or have you not thought that one out? This goes way beyond stupid conspiracy theories and protecting the right to protest...SO WHAT.
I for one would go to war for oil, would you? Not that I couldn't survive without it, but I would do it so that this nation and her economy could survive. Until we find an readily produced alternative we will have to resort to whatever measures are necessary keep it coming...and cheap too! So BFD with your war for oil chant. SO WHAT...if Casey died so that we could have oil, I'd rank him a big hero in my book, which is more than I could say about most of you gas guzzling SUV driving hypocrites. - Reply to this comment

I acutally wasnt directing my statement towards your posting; however, your indifferent attitude towards one's personal rights and freedoms scares me.
Of course I feel for the people in Iraq, as well as Africa, Israel, Lebanon, and here in the U.S. My heart goes out to all of them.
BUT, if we, the people, begin to disregard the rights and freedoms of our own fellow Americans -and yes, that includes the use of brute force against innocent bystanders during a protest, then we all fail. That is my point. - Reply to this comment

Define "Radical Rhetoric"?
I dont believe anything anyone has said here is radical. Stop your whining and debate the real issues. Ok you got pushed....but what the administration is doing to you is far worst than that. Think about it some and maybe you will realize it. I bet if you ponder on it as long as you have the "jostling" you received then you might actually attain some enlightenment on the real issues at hand.
Think about those poor petite mother holding their babies as we were dropping 500 and 1000 pound bombs in civilian neighborhoods. Even if you dont die....how many young ones had their ear drums ruptured and their hearing lost for life?
Your little push don't sound so bad now does it?

- Just as we were about to enter into real discussion without the radical rhetoric...here we go again. No wonder we can't seem to get anywhere.
Protest, make your points, but dont violate the rights of your fellow Americans in the process...that makes you equally guilty. - Reply to this comment
