- If so-called conservatives had any ability whatsoever to govern honestly or competently, they'd still be in power instead of eating sour grapes and whining.

That's like saying, If Hitler had any winning qualities, he'd still be in power. Man, conservatives and Republican's are bad for business, bad for the world. They are bad, period. I don't want those proven losers in power under any form. - Reply to this comment
- But mortar, there are folks on the right already objecting and complaining. There isn't even a choice made yet and we have this BS. I think you can glean a motive from that.

- That's not the Supreme Court's job. These Justices took an Oath to uphold the Constitution - not to change it..to fit into a president's agenda.

He hasn't even nominated anyone yet and you are already whining.
No wonder they call you the party of NO.

- The "known knows" are that no matter who Obama picks, the party of NO will whine about it for weeks.

- Whomever Obama chooses; you better believe it will be a Liberal judge. Whatever happened to Supreme Court Justices' upholding the Constitution of the United States - instead of manipulating it to conform to a President's wishes of law?? That's not the Supreme Court's job. These Justices took an Oath to uphold the Constitution - not to change it..to fit into a president's agenda.

Yes, I can read, and what I read from you is that you believe that the government is the solution to all your problems.......this is what makes you sick

Every American should be required to read "The Federalist Papers" which is a collection of essays and articles written by many of our Founding Fathers.
The overwhelming theme is that they were scared of this new government they were crafting would someday turn into a self-serving, all powerful monster, and the debate was over how to stop that from happening.

- Bork SHOULD have never been nominated in the first place.
______________
Why?
Posted by mortar29 at 7:46 AM : May 4, 2009
Bork's nomination was nothing more than political payback for his role in the Saturday Night Massacre of Watergate fame. You know, he was the one that fired Archie Cox. After the AG and Deputy AG resigned in protest of the firing request by Nixon. - Reply to this comment
- You lost the election now sit back and watch how government is part of the solution, not the problem.

Not exactly true.
But where were you tax protesters when Bu$h took a surplus and turned it into the Biggest deficits at that time?
No you were happy to let the deficit grow then.
What sore losers you people are. You lost the election now sit back and watch how government is part of the solution, not the problem. - Reply to this comment
- Keeping Bork ou tof the Supreme Court was a no-brainer.
His nomination was nothing more than political payback for his role in the Saturday Night Massacre of Watergate fame. You know, he was the one that fired Archie Cox. After the AG and Deputy AG resigned in protest of the firing request by Nixon.
Bork SHOULD have never been nominated in the first place.

- We must remember! It is the Supreme Justis's responsibility to interpret law that has been written and ratified by the congress against the Constitution. Never to interpret law indifferent to the "spirit" as it was written in the Constitution. Politics and idealism have no place in the interpretation of law! Just interpret it as it was written by congress prior.

- It's hillarious how the teabaggers are already railing against Obama's selection. They are showing their true partisan colors. They will try to say they have objections to the nominee's political or judicial views but the truth is they just have an obstructionist agenda. That is their whole plan...just listen to their leader Rush. Take all of their whining with a grain of salt. They aren't good at anything else and need their little tantrums to feel relevant.

- Since the obstructionists in the pathetic GOP will likely oppose whatever justice President Obama picks, I hope he sticks it too them good and nominates a flaming liberal. He tried to work with these idiot nay Sayers and what did it get him? Three votes on the stimulus package and ZERO on the budget. Screw the GOP, they care about politics more than policy. I hope the President bends them over and gives them a buggering worse than Arlen Specter did.
