How about you worry about your own morals and leave the rest of us alone? K? Thanks.

Not only is the country being run by a bunch of crooks, we have no moral fiber to say anything is wrong anymore. Men with men and women with women is wrong, period. America has become a joke. We have a president that is including gay and lesbian families at the White House Easter egg hunt??????!!!!!!! What?! We have a president who is more pro-abortion than any living politician, that even voted to allow abortion clinics to set aside aborted babies that lived outside of the womb after being aborted until they died????!!!!! What in the name of GOD is going on in this unholy country that attacks other countries that have done nothing to us, that encourages abortions and same sex marriages. How in the h e l l have we arrived at this point and where does the moral compass have us heading towards?????!!!!!

your question (which happens to be a very common talking point) "Who is forcing you to get a gay marriage?" is quite irrelevant. Can you figure out why?

I think your lack of logical argument is quite irrelevant. Can you figure out why?

"Is that where you are going to retreat to cs4466? Name calling and ridiculous attacks?"

You're right. It is sad. It's what bigots like you have been doing to gay people like me for centuries upon centuries upon centuries. It is the hallmark of the religious reich to denigrate, besmirch and discriminate against those that do not agree with their interpretation of religion. When you were growing up did you ever hear "get lost, straight person!" or did you hear "get lost, fa*got? We all know the answer to that. So you dare to malign me as being for name calling? You dare? You dare, bigot? This homosexual won't be maligned by the likes of YOU.

"What if those whom you sneeringly refer to as "religious bigots" refuse to be drug along for the ride?" Posted by VictorMakarov at 8:45 PM : Apr 8, 2009

A fallacy. Gay marriage doesn't have anything to do with you, your church, your religion or your rights. Nobody is forcing you to get a gay marriage. Nobody is attempting to force any churches to marry gay people. This is about CIVIL MARRIAGE, not RELIGIOUS MARRIAGE and the two concepts are totally and completely separate. You claim to be persecuted because you believe it helps you justify your bigotry. I have news for you - no honest mind would buy that.

"Maybe you are right, perhaps we have reached a point in this country where we can no longer reconcile our differences. Perhaps we have reached the point where "it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another." Posted by VictorMakarov at 8:45 PM : Apr 8, 2009

Great. Move to Canada. oh wait. They have gay marriage. How about the Netherlands? Nope, you can't go there either. Norway, Spain, Sweden, South Africa, Belgium, all out. Better move quick, bigot. You're likely to run out of places to move TO.

"I think you are fooling yourself if you think that you can just force this on society if it isn't ready. "Posted by VictorMakarov at 8:45 PM : Apr 8, 2009

If you think that equal civil rights for gay and lesbian Americans is NOT inevitable then the only fool around here is YOU.

victor: the government issues licenses for the same reason they impose fines and such. it is because government is an insatiable money eating machine

slownewsday: i agree with you. i find the religious argument unconvincing, and the folks that try to make the argument that people will then want to marry their goats are just embarrasing themselves

I find all religious arguments that try to infringe on government (and, well, reality) unconvincing.

Slownewsday05, your question (which happens to be a very common talking point) "Who is forcing you to get a gay marriage?" is quite irrelevant. Can you figure out why? I don't want to give away the barn, so I'll give you the chance to respond. I'll check back in a few hours and see what you can come up with.

Until then I have to get some sleep. :)

Talking point? It was my question to you.

You can keep your barn.

slownewsday05 you said "Taxes."

Why does government have to issue licenses to collect taxes?

-------- you misinterpreted - for couples to get tax breaks was one reason. Not the only reason. Not collecting taxes.

You seem to view marriage as nothing more than a benefits package.

--------- not the case. Go fish.

Take a look at the decisions of the State Supreme Courts in those states that I mentioned, you'll get your answer.

Posted by VictorMakarov

I already have my answer - it should be allowed for gays as well as straights.

Do you support that, or oppose it? And why? Any logical basis, or just bible thumpery?
