How to write a torture memo? First, sell you soul to the devil. Second, forget your ethics. Third, ignore the Constitution. Fourth, pretend that treaty obligations do not exist. Fifth, do not listen to the experience of our GI''s who have been tortured in wars past, and ask if we really want to be like the Nazi''s, Soviets, North Koreans, and PRC. Sixth, and most importantly, do not consult with experienced interrogators who will tell you what really works (and torture is not one of them).

And that''s where ethics and morals come in. Sociopaths can come up with plenty of excuses for their behaviors. History is riddled with them. From slavery to concentration camps, to anthrax ridden blankets, all in the name of nationalism.

The law is rife with sociopaths using the legal system to circumvent and screw our legal system. The mere fact that no one has stated openly that torture actually reveals real deep intelligence. We only hear that the tortured tell the torturer what they think we want to hear.

Nothing replaces good old hard police work. We have met the enemy and it is us.

Anyone who causes or condones torture is EVIL. There is no room for argument or discussion of this matter.

To date, only a small fraction of the photos and other evidence from Abu Ghraib has been made public. Should all of it be released, there would definitely be war crimes trials.
