Andrew Cohen On How The Bush Administration's Interrogation Policies Went So Wrong
- Cohen appears to think that the United States no longer uses "extreme measures" to elicit information.
Raise your hand if you believe that. - Reply to this comment
- I would like to see all these politicians, white house staff, neocon loudmouths and especially presidential candidates that say "waterboarding" is NOT TOTURE get the true life experience. I''m sure they would find the reality check extremely refreshing.

- Thanks for your input, tyjohn47 @ 9:15. I wasn''t around for Bagdad Bob. Sounds as though I didn''t miss much, although if one is a cynic (guilty, at times), the idiocies of the neo-cons can be amusing!
Speaking of amusing, observantX @ 10:44 last night must be one of the now-unemployed scriptwriters. A good laugh! Thanks! - Reply to this comment

- Bush''s policies went wrong because he is basically ignorant of the world around him and Cheney is the most vile, immoral VP in history. Combine this with Rove who would demonize anyone to get Georgie elected (and re-elected) and you have the mess that is America today.
First off is that the alQaeda issue is mainly a hoax and a con on America. They got lucky on 9/11. It was not terrorist''s brilliance, but their irrational hatred combined with a American intelligence agencies that cared more about turf than protecting that allowed it to happen. Bush Inc. then built an entire re-election campaign based on fear, ignorance, intolerance, and greed. His christian base was looking for something to hate and rally behind and islamic terrorism fit the need. Bush shows his ignorance by comparing them to the Nazis - Bush needs to read up on history. Islamic terrorism is at best a nuisance not a threat; but it does allow Bush and Cheney to cripple the Constitution, lower the respect of America worldwide, and funnel money away from our social needs to their friends in the military industrial complex. Americans have shown their lack of backbone by running scared for 7 years -this needs to end.
History will judge Bush and Cheney as both war criminals and eco-terrorists. They will be linked with the worst despots in history. Never again can America allow a Bush or Cheney to hold elected office. - Reply to this comment
- Quatrops, the whacked-out, blantanly false statements supporting King George and Prince *** in posts like this one read like the BS "Baghdad Bob" used to spew in the streets of that city when the Marines were literally minutes away from taking it in ''03.

- I think Bush/Cheney/Rumsfield and co. are sociopaths, so while most of us are horrified at the idea of torture, period, I bet those guys just yuck it up. Remember Bush doing those choking, gagging, sounds, and laughing when talking about the execution of that woman, Karla something, in Texas? Many of us might think someone deserves execution, but to joke about it is sick.

Y''know Dickie, after a long hard day ''terigatin'' terrists, I get''s hungry. I mean real hungry. I guess it''s the hot irons , y''know. The smell. Y''know? That kinda burnt barbecue sorta smell. Reminds me of cookouts back home.
Well George, I''m a waterboardin'' man, myself. It doesn''t get any better than that. Better than those sissy "stress positions". Better than no sleep or hunger, cold, cattle prods, beating, threating family members. Beats''em hands down. Good ol'' waterboardin''. Gets the job done and fast.
Yeah, Dickie. You''re always the one for the fast results. Gotta hand it to ya.- Reply to this comment

- I can only guess at the vituperative responses this article will engender from you Bush/Cheney supporters posting on this site, not to mention the denials, twists, and irrelavencies the neo-con on-line "news" services will offer. One can only wonder, with much trepidation, what other unconstitutional horrors are yet to be discovered about Addington (Cheney''s in-house Nazi).
We can only pray that our country and our constitution make it through the next 428 days intact. If you are a true, conservative Republican, TAKE BACK YOUR PARTY! ! All of the current crop of Republican candidates have too long supported Bush/Cheney policy, secrecy, and extra-constitutional actions. None of them deserve your vote.
Future historians will write volumes about how close we came to losing our democracy 2001-2009. - Reply to this comment
