He shot 31 rounds in 10 seconds. And there was one person there carrying a concealed weapon, who almost shot one of the people who took Loughner down.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
What's your point here? He did not draw and fire. Note again did not draw and fire. Most people that carry are well trained as are police officers. If Loughner had been able to reload then the carnage would have been massive. If my family had been there I would have prayed that someone would have shot Loughner as I am sure if you took a little time to think you would have also. - Reply to this comment
- Bloomberg you are a joke! You are this nations ty[pical politician, you are gouing to do or say as well as jump on any body's bandwagon that is going to help your political agenda. You want the federal government to enforce the gun laws that are already on the books, well there's federal laws on the books to enforce IMMIGRATION LAWS to and I didn't here you bring that up, the same laws that the state of Arizona chose to take upon themselves to enforce because the federal government wasn't and still aren't doing. I am a U.S. citizen, I support the 2nd amendment, I have the right to defend myself, my property, and family. I don't care about nor ever will I worry about being politicaly correct, the bill of rights are not to be infringed upon, they say exactly what they mean, not what politicians interpret them as, you politicians need to remember that you work for us the tax payer, not the other way around.

- Everyone always wants more gun laws, I can see Ms katie taking everyone down this road in interviews. Bloomberg is correct, All that needs to be done in enforece current laws already on the books. Most of our laws are this way. The law exist on the books but it has not been enforced or it was forgotten. So some politician jumps on the glory bandwagon to write a new one. Then he or she looks good in the face of the people. The only thing stricter guns do is prohibit LAW ABIDING CITIZENS from purchasing or owning guns. Just deal with the crimminals and we will have less crime without writing new laws.

- We can argue this issue all day and never reach any kind of agreement. When someone says "gun control" all the NRA members immediately start to scream "you want to take our guns away" and the discussion is closed. I do not own guns but I have no desire to take guns away from anyone who is qualified to have one. But there are many out there who have no business with a gun and we need to find a way to keep guns out of their hands. Until we do this the killing will go on. My oldest son is a police officer and I fear for him every day. Every time he makes a routine traffic stop his life is in danger. He is a target just walking down the street. I wish there was some way I could protect him and I believe stricter gun laws could help. Gun owners please listen to me...I DO NOT WANT TO TAKE YOUR GUNS AWAY FROM YOU! Let's work together on this instead of calling each other names. There are things we could do that would make our streets safer....let's do it.

- I have carried for over 30 years and will not leave home without a weapon. I pray that I will not have to use it but I will to protect my family and other innocent people from harm.
There is a popular saying that I live by. I would rather be judged by twelve than carried by six. - Reply to this comment
- Here's how some laws work that concern jurisdiction. Federal Government Agencies only have legal jurisdiction in Washington D.C.(District of Columbia)! They have to have exclusive(written) permission from the governor or sheriff(elected officials) in the jurisdictions they wish to operate in, they have no legal arrest powers in those jurisdictions located in soveriegn states! Only the sheriff or his "deputized" deputies can make an arrest & turn that individual/s over to the federal authorities for any federal violations only! It is somewhat complicated because of pendent jurisdictions; state vs federal. There are plenty of laws in the books that give reference. I've been a Paralegal since 1985 and am well versed in these laws!

- I just made a lengthy comment about our 2nd amend. const. rights and it was omitted! The U.S & Federal Governments have blatantly violated our rights under the U.S. Const., Bill of Rights, & Declaration of Independance since they started registration of guns in the U.S.! ALL gun laws are unconstitutional and must be repealed! The only legitimate law enforcement in this countryis elected sheriffs' & Texas Rangers! You must be "deputized" by one or the other. They have to be bonded by the state & county they operate in! Do your research people its all in the law books!

- Bloomberg is proving himself as a true politician. Creating a political campaign to take the heat off of other problems.
In truth if there had been a few people that carried a weapon in Tucson they could have shot the nut case before he shot so many. If gun control ever takes effect then only the bad guys will have the guns. Who will protect you until the police arrive? Sometimes a long wait - Reply to this comment

- I hope the next President is more like Bush or Nixon, President Obama is turning out to be a numbers guy; the number of guns, the DOW index number, the number of Arizona immigrants, the number of houses being built, the number of seats in the House and Senate instead of focusing on the real numbers which is the true unemployment number over 30 percent, the true number of killed overseas or had their limbs blown off and the number of criminals out there that still have their investment money.
