ignorance is bliss. first most of the payments for part b of medicare comes from the general revenues not from the trust funds. Most of us have only been paying for current needs. Only a small portion is being saved for future benefits. cash benefits were loaned to the govt which will now be paying be basing regular benefits in significant part. its ironic if you think about it the method that obama care was to pay for the expension of medicaid was by cutting the cost of medicare at the momemt the amount of money spent on medicare will be going up dramatically. It would seem liberals have no sense of financial responsibility and see only unlimited benefits to everyone with no forseeable way to pay for it. Obama care is just another nail in the coffin of our finances. I cannot see the necessary money being available without huge taxation which may in the process ruin our economy

Lets blame those who are really responsible for the bust. People coming here from all over the world to get free medical care, free dental care, free housing, free heat and or air conditioning, free food and a free education. Funny no one ever raised a question about this. Why? Is it too politically incorrect? Apparently it is. People retiring PAID INTO THE SYSTEM, they deserve to have the promises made to them kept!

Wonder how many people age 50-65 died today. I know two personally. They will never need their Medicare.

I'm sure this age death happened all over the United States, and I'm sure CBS didn't give any thought to them, nor to any other factors that caused them to "print" a scare tactic such as this article. Shame on you, CBS, for attempting to scare old folks!

Pahgre, the only way Wall Street elite can abuse smaller investors and the average American is for them to allow it.

No, I'm not naive, but you must be, because you didn't understand my post. READ SLOWLY, NOW...Wall Street can't touch your money if you steer clear of it and use FDIC insured investment facilities...aka BANKS!

I think a good place to start would be to have some sort of "need" assessment. All those rich people who don't need Medicare should not be able to get it. The greedy rich (including ex-presidents) who can afford to pay their own way should. It was meant to help those who need it. Same with Social Security. Those who make millions each year should not get Social Security, too. Only those who need it.
