He probably had enough with rude and disrespectful passengers but you can tell he's a real a**hole of a steward. It's still funny and the scence his boyfiend put on yesterday for the press was classic.

Glorifying this behavior doesn't surprise me. We glorify the strangest things such as actors who cheat on their spouses, gangsters, gangs, athletes and movie stars on drugs, and now a flight attendant who walks off the job. If the airplane had been delayed an hour because of this, many passengers might not jump so quickly to glorify the flight attendant. Is it any wonder why so many of our children are screwed up?

All the naysayers above who are criticizing him mercilessly, asking for his termination I would simply ask. Do you know him personally? were you there when the incident occurred?" Have you investigated the background of the alleged instigator?. If all of your replies were no then none of you are qualified to make a rendering on his case and you can be assured that you will never be deposed regarding this case. As far as the individual who made the claim that everybody on Facebook was lacking intellect in huge numbers, would he be willing to write a comment telling us how he found this shocking evidence and when?

I do not want to comment on this gentleman's legal repercussions, I really do not have the credentials to do so. AS a writer, metaphor and hyperbole is my game but this man is a martyr for what has happened to our country. The avalanche of financial pressure and the afflicted economy, the lack of leisure time and vacations that families cannot afford. The constant take out instead of the fine restaurant. Marital relations crippled by anxiety and worry and uncertainty of the future. Obesity an epidemic and taxes going up. This was a gay man as well probably in a state of flux over the vacillation of gay rights in the the courts.Faith drained out of our government and the polls show it. I even heard something about alcohol.Maybe he wondered why no one gave him anything for being a substance abuser but the movie people make a fortune by going on a talk show and admitting being a drunk. Take a step back, I would bring him into the boardroom for having the courage to have a breakdown at work. That is what he is, a working class hero. This time this was not a saved job, it was a happenstance that created idolatry.

With 100,000 Facebook Fans, Songs and T-Shirts, Steven Slater Is A Hero to Working Men -- but Not to Authorities.

A more accurate statement is he's a hero to 100,000 Facebook Users (Not a lot of brain power there) and to BLUE COLLAR working men. I myself would have fired him.

what about the 50,000 plus passengers that didn't give him a hard time?

made it possible for him to have a job and a paycheck for all those years?

....throw the jerk in jail

It's sickening we're applauding the actions of this fool. He could have provoked a much bigger incident involving other passengers and crew. I hope he's prosecuted to the fullest extent.
And yes, what about the anonymous woman who started the whole altercation in the first place? Absolutely the "Ugly Passenger." Why haven't we heard about her and why isn't she being charged with assault, among other things?

This whole thing is a shining example of our skewed values. We put great value on the socially unacceptable, the morally unaccountable, violent and bad behavior and pretty much everything crude and coarse. Slater lost his temper, threw a fit like a three-year-old, reacted like a terrorist and all because he hated his job. Oh yeah, I'm really proud this guy's an American.

I am not as clever with limericks but what about the female passenger that started all this? Enough with anonymity, it has all been about Steven but the passenger should be outed for her ugly behavior and a story would be great on ugly passenger airline behavior. She hit the guy with her bag, caused a fight, was a generally mean person, what is the back story that caused her to behave so poorly on the plane??????
