Classic case of liberal hypocracy. Our country has been in economic turmoil for over a year and yet the politicials still take their regular vacations from work and the president still vacations with family but let a Executive from BP go to a yacht race and well... that's just unforgiveable. What a load of bull.

The man isn't going to accomplish any more by being in his office 24/7 than he is working has he has been.

OH I see it's words like Yacht - meaning he is wealthy and doing the things that weathy people do. I guess what the press and the liberals want in the CEO to be on the beachs scooping up oil and personally working on the problem 24/7. He can't do anything that might show that he still has some personal wealth. What next an effort to take away the mans wealth? CBS, the media and politicians are such a bunch of hypocrites. Ya wanna bet that every media outlet is trying their best to up their earnings by getting the latest greatest dirt on the situation. It's all about the money to the media too - they just want to sound like their are serving the best interests of the public while they line their pockets.

Tony might as well stay on the yacht. Maybe he can't hurt anyone else if he stays there. We all know he won't answer questions honestly or do anything to help anyone. I would like to see him get his hands dirty cleaning oil off of the birds he is killing. He could have vacationed on the beaches of Forth Walton or Destin where his oil is washing on shore. The hotels there are beautiful. I am sure he could have gotten a room! His family could have joined him.

I didn't see any pictures of Barry playing golf? No matter, there's absolutely nothing he's able to contribute.

The free market is providing the proper incentive to all parties involved in this matter.

BRITISH petroleum, a multi-national corporation, is helping america grow less dependent on foreign oil and it has the incentive of turning a profit. A win win.

BRITISH petroleum receives the invisible hand which gives drive to BRITISH petroleum to not want to see it's valuable oil wasted to the great and vast ocean which in time is bio-degrading this sellable resource. It much rather get it to the market place and make a profit and in turn fuel our way of life. These conditions create another win win.

The people living on the beaches who like to eat fish don't want oil in their sand and too much of it in their gumbo. They are benefitted from this incentive on the part of BRITISH petroleum to slow this wasting oil to a trickle down flow rate. Still again another win win.

The invisible hand feels the presence of the differing interests and unites them in a marriage, like male and female, both parties enjoying mutually satisfying complementary outcomes.

I hear now that Joe Barton is apologizing to the British for driving the red coats back and interfering with the British parliament's aid to the East India Company, a monopoly on the importation of tea to America

Just a bit of journalistic hypocrisy here. The story starts out bashing Hayward for the mortal sin of taking a day away from the problem to be with his family. Near the end, at a PARTY for Gulf residents, a lady says:
"Everything is about the oil -- and we need a little break".

As Mr. Hayward has been neck deep in this for weeks, doesn't he deserve the same consideration? Or was this just a political cheap shot?

I wonder about forcing BP to have a 20 BILLION $ fund. Is that legal ? I am not saying that it is not a bad idea, but under what rules has this been done? Is a formal agreement written that absolves BP from other loss ? CAn the gov't just demand such money ? Who gets to decide what person/group/ etc gets a piece of it ?

If the Fed Govt acted so forceably, there would be all sorts of clean up schemes in the works, by now, and not held up by the EPA and alike. If I were President, I would throw whatever we had, and see what worked.
