There, Republicans are throwing up hurdles to try to keep it from passing.
---
The Repubs WANT pre-existing conditions excluded, WANT healthcare to continue swelling the budget, WANT people to lose their insurance if they get laid-off....why, because all of the above benefit insurers, not the insured .......and the repubs have no shame whatsoever about it.

Astounding.

This is embarassing. Elections occurred and to the victors go the spoils. I am a card carrying Rep. and we lost the election. The majority has spoken. The Dems ran on a platform of health care reform and the People spoke and we lost. One day we will win bac at least one of the chambers and we would be offended if they treated our legislation the same way. They voted against the increase in war funding 8 years ago and they lost and accepted it. We (Republicans) are looking like bitter children who cannot not accept election results, remember how Al Gore looked in the 2000 election, that is how we are acting. Lets try to change the law through host debate based on fact and evidence, not on hype and speculation. We are destroying the very foundation and respectability of our political system that made this country great and unique. I am sorry, in the next election we will have our chance to make our own change. Lets not destroy the process before we have a chance. Grown fellow Republicans, we look like babies. After all democrats are upset they are paying for a war they did not like. They need to get over it they lost that vote.

Cons are such babies. Wah wah wah. We didn't get our way wah wah wah.

Offer an alternative you dunces. It would never happen under Republican control. They wouldn't even bring it up. Because they don't want ANY health reform.

They had a congress from 98 to 06 and a president from 00 to 08 and never even mentioned it. And whenever the Dems did they slapped them DOWN.

The GOP just does not get it. They squawk about the administration not concentrating on the economy and jobs but all they're interested in is blocking health care for 32 million Americans. I have dropped out of the Republican Party and will re register as an Independent.
You guys are pathetic !

Republicans will stop at nothing to protect their fat cat insurance company buddies. So, a few million uninsured people have to die, that's just a small cost of doing business for the Republicans. Just a little collateral damage. It's ALL about the money for them. They could care less about the people.

Oh for God's sake, give it up... I will never understand how such "God fearing" people could lack such compassion! These are the people who tend to think of themselves as so called Christians... I highly doubt God would think it was OK to turn our backs on people who are not fortunate to have a job or insurance. I have never in my life been so vehemently Democratic as I am now. I would be ashamed to call myself a Republican in this day and age. The party has gotten completely away from it's ideals.

Two new polls showing the American people are strongly against the health care plan President Barack Obama will sign into law today. According to CNN, 59% of Americans oppose President Obama's plan. And according to CBS News, 48% of Americans oppose the plan (with 33% in strong opposition) compared to only 37% who support it (with only 13% in strong support). Digging deeper into the CBS poll, we find that 76% of Americans disapprove of how Congress is handling its job on health care, 46% think Congress has spent too much time on health care, and 49% believe the rules and procedures used in Congress to get the current health care bill passed have been mostly unfair.
