Although i believe many currently receiving jobless benefits are doing their best to find employment I believe many will ride the benefits for as long as they can without attempting to find unemployment and to have these never ending benefits only encourages this behavior. Kinda like the welfare system.

So you think we should stop these great programs that help unemployed Americans because of a few bad apples. There's fraud and abuse everywhere, but that doesn't mean we should strap everything. Millions of americans are collecting unemployment and to say that they all should be punished because of the few the abuse the system is using a very broad brush to say the least....it's like saying that all of the Tea Baggers are racists and terrorists because a few morons want to call the president the "N" word, fly planes into the IRS buildings and shoot abortion doctors.......

Lone Senator Blocks Jobless Benefits
Republican Jim Bunning Halts Legislation that Would Renew Highway Programs; Medicare Payments to Doctors Slashed 21 Percent

The libs have the largest majority in decades and they still cant get anything done.

I agree 100% - the filibuster should be completely repealed from the senate rules.

So because few abuse the system, you have NOTHING bad to say about Bunning hurting tens of thousands of America's citizens?

To me, this is a form of political "terrorism".

They don't need to get invovled in the private sector. They need to create the situation where the private sector feels confident and will start hiring. As it stands businesses are not confident in the current economic policies and therefore will not risk investent and hiring.

What "economic policies" ae preventing businesses from hiring?

And how do they "create the situation where the private sector feels confident and will start hiring"?

What - 17 rounds of tax breaks weren't enough?

The Republicans are once again playing politics at the expense of 10 million unemployed Americans.....If you're one of the milllions of Americans that have lost your job during the greatest recession of our time and you still can't find a job to support your family, then the Republicans have a message for you:

"GET OFF YOUR LAZY BEHIND AND GET A JOB!!!"

No the p[oint is that rather help with fixing the unemployment situation the dems would rather concetrate on the health care B.S. and continue extending jobless benefits.

And if they try to do something about high unemployment rates, you'll whine that they should stay out of the private sector.

Sure, if Republicans are so concerned about the unemployment situation, then how come only a few voted for the jobs bill last week aimed at tax incentives for small businesses? Again, you and your Republican buddies on capital hill are so obsessed with sabotoging the functioning of our government for political gain, that you can't see your own HYPOCRISY......

skyk-2009 by the way, I know without a doubt that every last one in Congress needs to be voted out because not a single one of them have my best interests in mind. All they want is more power over my life and all my money. I personally don't believe that it is the government's responsibility to take care of everyone as it has been doing since the Great Depression. We, as a country, have gotten so use to our government taking care of us and telling us what we will do and how we will think and there are quite a number of us, actually like not having to do a darn thing. I, don't like my hard earned money going to a bunch of lazy, good for nothing bums, especially those in Congress. I say "us" because whether you like it or not, we, as in "us" are still the citizens of the United States of America. And if you believe that "THESE people have a clue how to fix anything aside from "Family Values" then you are as clueless as you claim me to be. I won't want a single one of them telling me even the slightest thing about family values and for that matter, you neither.

Exactly what war do you think you are talking about? The only person that lied to you about a war, going to war, needing to go to war is Bush. And if you don't know that then it is you that isn't living on the same planet. As far as tax cuts, those wonderful tax credit all of us have been enjoying are actually a product of Bush's years. And the bail out of the banks started in Bush's presidency, not Obama. Get your facts straight before you go accusing me of not living on this planet.
