- All politicians lie or try to lie. Bushoccio was the king of them all. They are owned and run by the big corporations and big business has the MO of lying cheating and stealing to maximize profits. Welcome to America and the corporate Mafia.

- I will say it again. The story is not that Obama reneged on a promise. it is that he made the promise at all when he does not have the Constitutional authority to fulfill the promise.
The president cannot compel the Congress to change its procedures. The Constitution gives each house authority to make up its own rules. Period.
What we really should be doing is asking the president why he was so ignorant of the Constitution that he would arrogantly make such a promise in the first place. - Reply to this comment
- I hope the press keeps calling politicians, right and left, on their lies and reneging.
I voted for Obama, and I will probably vote for him again, but I want him to do better. - Reply to this comment
- This is essentially what we have when we let the big corporations buy and run the government for their own profit.
When are we (the bottom 99%) going to wake up and general strike until they meet our demands? What will it take? - Reply to this comment
- Either:
(A) Obama lied about his intention to put health care negotiations on C-SPAN; or
(B) He was so naive and inexperienced that he didn't know it was not feasible or practical to negotiate health care on C-SPAN.
Neither possibility gives me much confidence in our Dear Leader. - Reply to this comment
- I too am among what apprears to be a significantly growing number of people totally disabused of any idea that obama might make a good President. However, I did not vote for him so my conscience is clear. I'm afraid too many people forgot change does not have to be good, just different. He sure is trying for that. With over 50 years in politics on local and state levels I believe Congress and obama are working on the premise that the voters have very short memories and they can "buy" off enough of them. This is particularly true if they can keep ACORN registering people who don't read and/or think. Perhaps it's time to reconsider voting requirements (fairly applied before you all panic)

- President Obama said today that it is absolutely imperative that Congress pass health care by January 17.
"That's Michelle's birthday, and I really, really need to wrap up health care as a birthday present for her," he said. "I promised her."
"She doesn't care what's in the bill, and I don't either," he said. "So get crackin' and get it done," he ordered his minions in Congress.
Polosi and Reid got the message and promptly issued a joint statement: "Yes, massa." - Reply to this comment
- Why can't we see this bill? Who is writing it? Who is reading it? Who will vote for it? It's not about money anymore, it's about our health and our lives. Americans, speak up! I want to help all citizens get healthcare insurance but not a 3,000 page political take over by the executive branch of government.Help!
