How about doing this. For every product made by a US company in China they get taxed at $1.00 per item and that 41.00 cannot be added to the price of the item.

I think some industries need to appreciate the value of education and be willing to pay for it. I walked away from a job offer last month. The company low-balled my wage and told me "my education and certification in my field has no bearing on wage determination." WOW! How sad to hear that, but nothing probably many others haven't heard.

First off we need to get out of NAFTA,CAFTA and any other trade agreement.Secondly we need to place a tarriff on ANY goods that are imported into the country EVEN A US BASED COMPANY,which is a loophole in NAFTA.And finally any company that gets a tax break when they build a plant or puts an office in then they leave in 5yrs of a 20 yr deal should pay all the taxes from day one til the leave and prorate til the end of the agreement.

To solve the unemployment situation deal with the elephant in the room. Jobs will continue to leave this country as long as it is cheaper to send raw materials out of this country to be made into products we use here. Assess very large tariffs on these products to get OUR manufacturers to keep the jobs here!

In my opinion it is greed. Plato once wrote along with other authors that greed amongst the governing forces and ignorance amongst the population is what destroys a civilization. Our Governing forces have been bought off time and again by lobbyists to get their way etc that we have stopped putting our own infrastructures maintenance first. We ship vital manufacturing jobs accross the seas so much that the united states can't brag about being the inovators but a nation of consumption. I think we should start putting america first and rebuild our infrastructure take care of america first put the profitiers second. But how can we the people really compete to six hundred to one lobbyists spending so much money on our legislators to get their way. it will never happen.

You can have all the R&D, innovation and education you want, but if we don't fix our trade policies, we will just be creating jobs for shipment overseas. The analysts and the politicians always want to put off talking about the "hard stuff." In this case the "hard stuff" is taking on the greedy and powerful elites, including their friends in the mainstream media, who think unlimited free trade is the answer.
The media is too dumb to know it, and the elites know what they are doing is not best for this country, but what is best for their greedy appetites.

In my opinion this article is a bunch of crap. The manufacturing jobs being lost and have been lost have nothing to do with this recession and everything to do with our government. We have been sold out by free trade agreements and tax breaks to corporate America that have allowed them to outsource our jobs to cheap labor regardless of the poor quality of product they are importing to sell cheap. On top of that they allowed open borders to import cheap slave labor that they are trying to hold onto by not enforcing the immigration laws and passing national health care that the American taxpayer will have to foot the bill to take care of them. The news media think we are a bunch of mindless sheep that will believe anything written. Americans know what has gone on. We know our government has been bought out. Corporations run this country. No amount of spin is going to change the facts.
