- The VA. What a joke. Funny how the Govt. keeps talking the talk, but they don't walk the walk.
Bottom line is they are still playing games with the Vets (look at the absolute crime/raping Bush gave veterans in 2003).
Talk, talk, talk. Run around, run around, run around. There's the door, sorry we can't help you, thanks for stopping by. Next. - Reply to this comment
- The V.A. is a parking ground for Government workers. Not the kind who are medically trained, but bureaucrats who need a job. Bean counters if you will. I am means tested every year for health care and at 25K per year I make to much money to qualify. Members of Congress have a health care plan that is 70% subsidized by us. Go figure!

- Don't feel too "special", people; this kind of egotistical BS happens in private industry all the time, too. I think many of the people who scratch and weasel their way up the "ladder" have sociopathic issues (mild, or otherwise) Call 'em out on the carpet for their inadequacies and you will "pay" dearly for it.

- Dr. Washington,
As a fellow Psychologist who has also treated veterans with PTSD I want to say I am proud of you doing the right thing speaking up on behalf of our patients. I applaud your intrepid actions and admire your professionalism. You did what any competent therapist should always endeavor to do. Bravo dear colleague.

- I am having a similar problem, having complained to "the government" against a government contractor for fraud, waste, abuse, discrimination, and retaliation, causing a legally binding contract worth tens of thousands to be cancelled less than 45 hours prior to my departure for the 90-day assignment (contract) to England on February 3rd, 2013.
The contractor claims that the "government" contracting officer ordered the last minute cancellation of my contract after having reported the fraud, waste, abuse, discrimination, and retaliation referenced above (to her, the contracting officer) just four (4) days before the contract was illegally cancelled on February 1st, 2013.
I filed a complaint with the the contracting officer's employer's Inspector General's office yesterday and have yet to be contacted regarding the very serious and illegal behavior of the government contractor and/or contracting officer.
These large organizations, bureaucracies, believe they can act with impunity against individuals because their behavior is merely a civil offense at worst and the chances of we "little guys" finding a lawyer with the integrity to take our cases being slim to none because "there just isn't enough in it" for them (the lawyers - what did Shakespeare say about lawyers?).
This bullying, discrimination, and retaliation which goes unpunished thousands, if not millions, of times each year SHOULD BE CRIMINALIZED. Maybe then the individuals responsible for these offenses might thing twice before bullying, discriminating, and/or retaliating, knowing they COULD go to jail rather than getting a "slap on the wrist" at worst. - I know exactly what she is Going through as the female assistant chief of police at a VA in California I testified against the chief of police and I also was demoted six grades. I had outstanding evaluations for ten years and 22 year Navy veteran and none of that mattered. If you speak out against anyone in the VA leadership you will pay for that. Very sad! Congress really needs to take a strong look at the retaliation/reprisal in the VA.

- They should be terminated. Under federal regulations retaliation of this nature is illegal. The VA bureaucracy is set up to discourage veterans from going to them. I filed a claim when I got out for head, hip and shoulder injuries. After 9 months with no response I followed up and was told they lost my claim. After having to refile and wait 10 more months the claims were all denied. I was so sick of their bs I just stopped dealing with them. I'm now in the process of refiling my claim because I'm tired of suffering in pain and not getting what care I'm due.
