- Jessica did NOT come out in favor of the Wasserman Bratten contract! In fact, many citizens tremble with rage and fear at the indignity of being disregarded on decisions that trend in the direction of revitalizing and building upon the crimes of the last century: criminalization and repression of minorities, the poor, and political dissidents. From the moment that Jessica Hollie and I picked up a pregnancy test at the store, and sat with trepidation waiting for the second line on the test to appear, we've been talking about how to keep this kid safe. And no, black radicals, or anarchist window smashers were not our concern, it was the police and their ever enhancing license to kill young black men. Five months later, finding out that the baby was a boy was actually traumatic because she and I and many others are already grieving this child's oppression, and he hasn't even been born yet. How DARE CBS news so glaringly misrepresent the concerns of this person and the VAST MAJORITY of the 400 people who came to aire grievance and were ignored and misconstrued.

- I wonder if there has been a study of those committing gun crimes in Oakland. Like what percentage are Caucasian compared to what percentage are African-Americans. Maybe Oakland would not really like to know. I also wonder how many of the gun crimes are committed by those who have registered guns, guess Oakland would not really like to know this either.

- Hey Oakland. You have been duped by der KaliforniaDemokratische. They took away your second amendment right to keep and bear arms for your protection. Now, the only people with guns are the bad guys and they have NO FEAR. Arm yourselves for your own protection or get the hell out of that cesspool. It's only going to get worse. If you stay, it's time to start voting republican.

- You don't need fewer guns, you need more guns in the right places. Under California Law you have the power to issue concealed carry permits to the huge majority of your population that (a) aren't criminals, and (b) are mad as hell and aren't going to take it anymore. Right now your gang bangers are fearless. They know that the police aren't going to get in their way, and they know that they can attack anyone they want, and that their victim will be unarmed. Think outside the box. Ruin their day. If only some of your concerned citizens take the classes and get their permits, that will make life VERY dangerous for your criminals. Anyone, anywhere at any time could be one of those armed citizens. That is how you put down a crime wave. NO LAW THAT YOU PASS WILL IN ANY WAY DETER YOUR CRIMINALS FROM GETTING OR USING GUNS. Did you get that? The only way that you win is to make being a bad guy too scary. Do that and they will all suddenly move to San Francisco, Berkley and Davis, where they will flourish forever because those places will never get the clue. But at least Oakland will be safer, because of more guns.

- Easy fix - Catch a couple bad guys or gang-bangers, then hold a public execution. Nothing instills peace and harmony better than showing people how crime WILL cost you your life if it's the path you take. And for the criminals, it puts them in a predicament - leave the bad life to Hollywood, or pay dearly to play.

- Obviously, the crime is because no one is being arrested, or incarcerated.
