- FINALLY, they are talking about the issues IN ORDER. The ONLY issues right now are the tax cuts and unemployment benefits and the affect letting them expire would have on the markets. Frankly, most Americans believe the spending cuts should be left alone. Sure the GOP would like to protect defense, and the Dems would like to protect everything, but $55B/yr from defense and other (excluding Medicaid) sounds like a good start on the spending front. The Farm Bill and "Doc Fix" can wait until after Jan. 1 - it's best to let the GOP find out the price of taking milk and seniors "hostage".

- Harry Reed is a coward for calling Boehner a "dictator." Reed, has no interest in helping the country. Reed only wants to bail himself out for overspending.

- The Republican party of "NO" only represents the 1 % wealthy. They consider the rest of us "second class citizens." They want only the rich to run the country and have complete say.

- We as citizens need to ask why no democrats voted for plan b last week. Do we elect officials for the part or as our representatives. Our president has good intentions, however has been misled by the treasury department on what is needed to balance the activities of government. This missing link is the reason for political discussions rather than solutions as the treasury department has not leveled with us nor the president. Please go to www.cbo.gov and click on the Monthly Budget Review,. This report illustrates the facts on the sources and uses of funds, and most importantly the deficit. It is there as a two page easy read for all citizens to review. In this case the media as well has chosen not to engage us with real information. They instead rather have the political views covered, which does little to fix the problem. This is the moist serious challenge our country has ever faced, and the facts of the situation are not understood nor communicated so all citizens have an equal perspective of the challenge. In war that is justified we unite and rally for our troops. Are we not in a challenge of the same gravity as war, yet we rally is tainted with political moves and deceptions. Our solutions are simple our courage to act is not equal to the task. Party does not matter, we have a challenge behind the pillars of the treasury department that is our problem. Now is the time for meaningful action. Please view information at www.cbo.gov so reality is understood by all.

- It's not as easy for Obama as it looks. He wants to ruin America and then blame it on those who want to preserve our future. Oh, make no mistake, he's got powerful comrades: the newsmedia, leftist politicians, and Moslem extremists are screaming loudly in support of his destructive policies. But we still have a Constitution, a Bill of Rights, freedom of speech and a large number of people who love America. We need to stand up and let Mr Obama and his cronies know that they can't take America down without a fight.

- Remember when you were a kid, and you waited until the *very last day* to complete a project you KNEW was coming due? Well, Congress and the Fiscal Cliff is sort of like that.
And yes, if they fail to turn something in, they most definitely will receive a failing grade...from the American public...both now and in 2014. - Reply to this comment
- The Reagan tax cuts are unsustainable and morally corrupting. Re-instate the pre Reagan tax rates NOW

- When January 1 comes and goes, and the new fiscal policy takes effect, ask yourself why this has happened. Because the pugs have successfully done their jobs of furthering the interests of the very rich. After all, these two percent are the fountain from which all good things flow to the Republicans. They are the sugar daddies, the honey bears, the Gods they worship. Must not bite the hand that feeds.
