- Any thinking person, Republican or Democrat (let's remember we are all Americans first), if they take the time to look into this story will be able to tell that this whole story stinks to the high heavens. Yes, many people would like to just 'move on' from this. Four people died after begging for help from this administration. How would you feel if it was your son or daughter? Some people have sons and daughters in dangerous places right now. We need to find out what happened and get this right. Al-Qaeda is just as strong if not stronger, and they will not hesitate to strike on a weakened target again. We need to make sure our people are protected, and if the host nation is incapable of doing so (as Libya had told us long beforehand), then we get our people out OR we send our own people in. Neither of these things were done. Why? That answer has to be solved. Petraeus was the one whose people were taking the blame for all of this and his testimony was the MOST anticipated, and he resigns just days beforehand over something the FBI has been investigating for four months. We may never have proof, but its quacking big time.

- Hard to imagine how this sort of scandal continues to take place among high profile government officials and CEOs, as has been reported of late. While I can understand the frailty of human nature, I can't come to terms with the fact that these men are all willing to allow their careers and families to be destroyed by their lack of good judgement.

- So tired of hearing people try to explain why David Petraeus should be excused for violating our trust in him. Yes he did great things. He also did something very stupid and I am listening to someone say what he did was not disqualifying. Well it was highly disqualifying to this American voter. I would like someone in his position to know that engaging in the behavior he did was something that could potentially damage him and the intelligence community and that he would have had the self control to not do it. The whole thing is a fine example that what you have done does not excuse what you are doing. Sorry General Petraeus, but more sorry for me and his family and all our fellow citizens who are suffering for his foolishness.

- We didn't get rid of Bill Clinton, the charming, philandering, under-the-table getting his kicks in the White House, Democratic President. Why would we accept the resignation of a highly decorated, highly skilled, knowledgeable, Republican CIA Director? Obama, you said you wanted to get along, just say no.

- Now that's how you market a book! The name Broadwell will soon take its right full place along side the names of many other such inauspicious people too numerous to mention here.

- If you knew Petraeus personally and received a harassing e-mail from a stranger that referenced him, wouldn't you just call his office? If the answer is "sure, that makes sense," then you've put Petraeus close to the driver's seat of this scandal.
The most important thing is that it all occurred just before and then simultaneously with the Benghazi attacks, a time where the internal workings of the Obama Administration are under suspicion. - Reply to this comment
