Federal elections = federal standards
1. Count and proximity of polling places matched to proximity of population count
2. Certified and non-partisan monitored vote data handling process standards
3. Standards for voter ID and/or proof of citizen hip
4. Standards for state official actions affecting voting
5. Etc.

Ohio 2004 rerouting of vote tabulations to GOP servers (same that "lost" White House emails) suddenly causing Republican vote count spike enlightened me...

It just goes to show that business people are not good choices to run governments. The Florida governor cannot even run an election let alone a state. Every other state has established winners and Florida is still trying to figure it out.

As any good business person knows, you hire experts to do the complicated work. The person who runs a business want't to know the straight facts not necessarily what he or she would like to hear. In government, the electorate are the business people and the elected officials are supposed to be the experts in politics. The people of Florida are learning the price to be paid by electing an amateur to be governor.

Voting in Fallujah is easier than in Miami Florida. We were lucky to have pens and paper to scratch our votes on. Next year I hear Republicans want us to etch our choices in the sand with sharpened sticks

Florida will be a 'ghost state'. Meaning they might declare who won eventually, but they will still be saying that all the votes haven't been counted.

Leave it up to Florida. What is their problem....really? I think the GOP thought Florida would be the deciding state and they were just trying to find a way to fix the election again.

It ain't over till Florida sings!

What a system. Let's call back the Curiosity rover from Mars. Maybe it can fix Florida because the buffoons in charge sure can't. How absurd!

So in spite of all the GOP's attempts to disenfranchise voters, it turns out they lose anyway.

Florida is like a third world country when it comes to counting votes. New York is bigger, they don't have this problem. California is bigger, they don't have this problem. Sometimes you get the impression that this slow count is intentional and there may be forces waiting to see if any manipulation is needed to make Florida swing the "right" way. Maybe I am just paranoid but it is inexcusable for any state to take this long. And then there was Florida 2000.
