- So the President did know, and in the small clip he had a chance to tell what really happened and he hedged on it. Then went out and gave that Rose Garden press conference and hinted it was about a video.
Then has Jar Carney, and Ambassador Rice go around saying it was over a video, and even 2 weeks later at the U.N. Obama himself cited the video 6 times.
I am pretty sure the intent was to soften the blow so as not to upset his campaign, but this is far worse. The president lied, they tried to cover-up, and he did it again in last night debates, claiming that he didn't want to rush to judgement. - It's after 10PM PST and ABC's "Breaking News" website has not yet reported this, nor has CNN. I was a freshman at college when Watergate broke and everyone wanted to be Woodward and Bernstein. The failure to report frightens me more than anything.

- Everyone claiming that these emails are somehow evidence of a cover-up by the administration should review the record. From Reuters, Sept 12, the day after the attack:
U.S. government officials said the Benghazi attack may have been planned in advance and there were indications that members of a militant faction calling itself Ansar al Sharia - which translates as Supporters of Islamic Law - may have been involved.
They also said some reporting from the region suggested that members of Al-Qaeda's north Africa-based affiliate, known as Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, may have been involved.
"It bears the hallmarks of an organized attack," one U.S. official said. However, some U.S. officials cautioned against assuming that the attacks were deliberately organized to coincide with the September 11 anniversary. - Reply to this comment
