- Bravo, good sir! Bravo! Any person who cares enough for his country and that country's children who gladly serve in uniform to do that deserves all the respect and compliments he receives.

- I live in this neighborhood and I'm now in Afghanistan. This whole summer as I prepared for my deployment, I listened to taps without knowning where it was coming from. We've had to listen to taps here under different circumstances. I appreciate what Mr. Brittain does and can't wait to be back in my neighborhood where listening to taps doesn't mean someone's made the ultimate sacrifice.

- In as much as I love and respect the song and its purpose, I am glad I don't have a neighbor who plays it daily. There is a time and place for all things, and I think he should find a public place

- One loving heart contributes deeply to so many. We live a few hours drive from Tacoma, and for my 80th birthday on December 8, my husband and I will spend the night in Tacoma to hear this. When I was a child, we lived across the highway from the hospital unit at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas, and when taps was played at sunset, even the youngest children would look up. Thank you, CBS and Steve Hartman for this beautiful story on Veteran's Day.
