- Apparently a lot of people are confused about the 9/11/2012 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi. The video in question had been out since May. In August or September someone, probably al Qaeda or an al Qaeda wantabe, dubbed the video in arabic and promoted it in Lybia, hoping to incite mob violence against the U.S. The mob demonstrations at the Bengazi consulate were used as cover for a planed attack by al Qaeda or similar organization. It certainly did not take months to plan the actual attack. The attack itself was quite simple. Continued demonstrations against the video are just left over from the intital promotion of it by the extremists.
As is so often case, many people are partially correct in their comments under this story. However, being partially correct can sometimes be worse that being completely wrong. - Reply to this comment

Isn't hindsight a wonderful thing??? If only Obama had a crystal ball... I'm sure Republicans do because, geez, Iraq and Afghanistan turned out so well.

It doesn't take a crystal ball to know that you shouldn't decrease security in a country as volatile as Libya. The problmes in Iraq and Afghanistan should tell you that. - Reply to this comment
- I hope that CBS will hold the feet of the State Dept(Clinton), Rice and the whole Obama administration to the fire for the slaughter, lies and cover up in Libya. This goes beyond Watergate ever did as this ended with the death of four Americans and was attempted to be hidden for an election. How cheap they have made these lost lives and shamed America. Now this information comes forward regarding those in Libya knew they were in trouble, asked for help and security and were told to make do. Hillary gave Stevens this job and led him to the slaughter. CNN's reporter and cameraman went through the embassy and the toilet looked as if it had boiled over in blood. Your imagination takes you to the sodomy and rape of the ambassador. Hillary tried to say the Libyans tried to save him by taking him to the hospital. Pictures are contrary to her statements. He was already dead and being dragged through the streets. Where is the outrage? These people call everyone else liars but the biggest and most shameful are this administration. When lies are so blatant and insulting to the citizens intelligence there is not one line that can come from this President or any of his people that can or will be believed. Never has there been a more corrupt and dangerous administration. I hope for once the media will get beyond their political ideology and lay out the truth regarding what really happened in Libya, the cover up and lies and to hold all responsible accountable for the sake of this nation.

- @Lerianis4-- Apparently you missed a key factor,,,this was an attack on 9/11,, a thought out plan by terrorist's, most likely Al Qaida, that happened before the protests started. The protests started when Obama lied and said the attack on our embassy in Libya,, killing 4 Americans, was over a video. The people hadn't even seen or heard of the video until Obama exposed it.
