Good story, not many cops out there like that. He can enforce the law
without making you feel like you've been "had". Had a couple tickets myself, going with the "yes sir", "yes mam" seems to help also. Most of these guys are just doing their jobs.

What I saw when I watched Mr. Simmons was a nice individual who is living by "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you".

Mr. Simmons, congrats! If all cops were like you this world would be a better place. There would be no cop-haters. No "pig" comments except for the criminals who are losers, anyway, and will never change their attitude. While just watching the clip, I already started liking his broad grin. Make him Chief, please!

He is treating others as he would like to be treated in the same situation. It's not hard to do, just communicate and don't take anything personal when you are on the job.
Kudos for respecting others in a stressful situation.
Promote him to training others.
