- autism run through blood line under spiritual realm. It cause by supernatural power of anger through patients minds and actions. In order for heal it completely, God is the only source of healing, because He has authority remove this supernatural power. Medicine only temporary heal, and transform to different diseases.

- Maybe it's a single factor/possibility, but I personally know that it's overhyped as "the cause". Case in point: Friends under the age of twenty had Autistic boy whose "symptoms" didn't show until the age of three... just a few days after his vaccinations. He began becoming non-verbal and banging his head on a cement floor in frustration. His sister born two years after him was perfectly normal. His second sister born 13 years afterward shows mild symptoms. This study is only an indicator of a possibility... not a smoking gun.

- This old man study, already reported numerous times in the past, has more holes in it than a moth eaten sweater. First, where are the statistics on men having babies at an older age than in the past? Also, as the increase in autism started going through the roof in the early 1990's-was that just the time men started having children at an older age? Also, how many families did they study? What about the control groups. Old men, old mothers, fat mothers, freeways, odd lungs, cold mothers, and on out the door. But where is that never done study of fully vaccinated vs fully unvaccinated children? This is what related to the beginning and then the increase of the autism epidemic-the rise in the number of new vaccines.

- This is why we need EPA.
"What's the fourth one... Oopss... I can't remember. I guess I goofed."
Suck in some more polluted air because corporations are gods.
Drink some more polluted water because fraking will help you get to heaven. I don't think Jesus was talking about cracks in rock when he said path to heaven is narrow.
Inhale some more tobacco smoke nad drink some more hard liquor because that is how you become a man.
Spray some more poison on your lawn because you are too lazy to pluck the weed with your hands or garden tools. - Reply to this comment
- Here is my theory:
"nerds"/"geeks" like myself are common in places like Silicon Valley...
Being a nerd/geek have been linked to Aspergers Syndrome (the latter suspected as a cause for being a nerd/geek).
Astoundingly high rates of Autism have been found in places in Silicon Valley...probably having to do with nerds/geeks having children with other nerds/geeks and enhancing the instances of various forms of Autism (including Aspergers)
Male nerds/geeks tend to marry late because, let's face it, it's hard for guys like me to find a girl who likes me. And since the men are the ones who have to stick our necks out to attract a woman, the women nerds/geeks don't have this problem to the same extent.
So the above argument leads to an socio-genetic explanation for a link between Autism and older fathers, but without a causal connection. Both "older fathers" and greater instances of Autism have the same genetic origin in this scenario.
Why not older mothers? Children of older mothers have much higher probabilities of more severe genetic issues such as Down's Syndrome...etc. - Reply to this comment
- Maybe the editors have a stake in a cryogenics lab. Seriously, think about it. You're 45, your partner really wants a child, so you ask here, "Honey, should we use fresh-baked sperm, or should I pull out a packet I've had in the freezer for fifteen years and warm that up in the microwave for us?" Get real. Let'er fly. And take your chances.

- The statistics here are flawed. The doubling of cases in the past six years is directly proportional to the ability for pediatricians to accurately diagnose autism. Also, the spectrum of what can be considered autism has also expanded during this time period. Therefore, the statistical evidence on which the study is based is weak and so is the conclusion.

- According to the research, random mutations cause specific disorders. Shouldn't it be that specific mutations cause specific disorders?

- We already know the cause of Autism. It's inbreeding.

- Bad reporting. You should review the findings which indicate that the age of father, AS WELL AS THE AGE OF THE MOTHER, is correlated with autism spectrum disorder. Any real increase in autism is difficult to confirm as a consequence of the expansion of the range of the behaviors identified with the disorder and increased frequency of testing.
