- I still think the Obama campaign knows exactly what they're doing.
If Obama was far ahead in the polls, I think this *would* be a brokered convention for the GOP. The GOP wants to come up with a candidate that actually stands a chance of winning this November. As long as Romney and Obama are still basically running neck and neck, I think the GOP will formally accept him as their nominee.
But once the convention is over, and the GOP is stuck with the Romney/Ryan nomination, I think the Obama campaign is going to start hitting that tax-return issue with a vengeance.
Romney is obviously hiding something he (and his handlers) feel would be *much* more damaging to his candidacy than the continuing doubt caused by his refusal to release records already is.
This election will be won or lost based on who can get the most "undecided" voters behind them. And a lot of people that are still "undecided" are that way because they're concerned about what Romney is hiding.
Which leaves Romney stuck between a rock and a hard place. He can either continue to refuse to release any more tax returns and leave those "undecided" voters wondering about what he's hiding that he feels would be so damaging as to jeopardize his chances, or he can make them public and remove all doubt about his unsuitability for the Presidency. - Reply to this comment
- These two are getting on my nerves and too much face time as well. Get them off the front page of every news site!

- In the end this is a long commercial for the party. So will it be selling a positive vision or will this be four days of beating up on President Obama?

Romney does have a unique and positive vision - he just doesn't wax on about hope the way Barack did.
That doesn't tell anybody anything though about one's ability to deliver.
The most troublesome aspect of this quote is this little victim attitude from somebody who's supposed to be objective. Is John Dickerson supposed to be objective, or is he vocal about supporting the left? It's actually Barack that hasn't proposed anything that hasn't already been done before.
And if he loses in November, THAT will be why. Because Romney, in 2012, despite the dry, combative delivery, is actually offering up hope - because he's different (he's said he's willing to try and reduce the trade deficit by increasing domestic oil production, and by trying to reduce outsourcing to China. And the trade deficit is THE single largest lag on GDP.) Barack SAID he was going to do something about those two things, but apparently he lied. - Reply to this comment
- Ryan is a plot by the conservative extremists to promot their agenda. These extremists don't trust romney. they don't believe romney will stay true to their agenda. they force ryan into the race to make sure their agenda is up front and central for this election. They basically concealed 2012. Like their agenda of blocking obama every move in order to win back the whitehouse, they rather bring the country down to make their point. by their actions, usa will join the third world soon.

- "The poles don't show an uptick ..."
And what poles would those be, CBS?
Do you know the difference between a pole and a poll? - Reply to this comment
