- Who is Paul Ryan?
A catholic who rejects the teachings of Jesus Christ for the philosophy of atheist Ayn Rand. Nice pick Mitt - Reply to this comment
- Here is the Romney-Ryan agenda FACT CHECKED BY 60 MINUTES ...
Repealing the Affordable Care Act - which both Romney and Ryan have pledged to do - would re-open the so-called donut hole, a coverage gap in the Medicare drug benefit, which under the president's health-care plan is gradually closing.
Romney says "we're not going to reduce taxes for high-income people." A study put out by the Tax Policy Center earlier this month concludes that inevitably, Romney's plan would result in "large tax cuts to high-income households, and increase the tax burdens on middle- and/or lower-income taxpayers." (SO ROMNEY IS LYING)
Ryan was one of three people on the Simpson-Bowles commission to vote against moving forward with the recommended plan to reduce the deficit, and was reportedly the person to throw a wrench into the "Gang of Six" deficit deal last summer. (SO IT'S NOT ABOUT THE DEFICIT, IT'S ABOUT GUTTING PROGRAMS REPUBLICANS DON'T LIKE)
The addition of Ryan to the Romney ticket moves the debate even beyond the budget and the economy into morality. The Ryan Plan is so damaging to social programs benefiting our poorest and most vulnerable citizens that it prompted the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops to publicly blast the devout Catholic for not just tearing holes in the nation's safety but for his "shredding of the nation's moral obligations."
If you loved Bush Jr. ... you'll love Romney-Ryan ... with the same results! - Reply to this comment
- The Republicans want to cut food stamps by 16 Billion Dollars while according to the New York Times, 36 million Americans rely on food stamps. More than 24 million of them were white, 8 million were African American and 6 million were Hispanic.
Paul Krugman has the most honest take on this man, he states ... "Is it possible that I have misjudged Mitt Romney? My take has always been that he's a smart guy who also happens to be both ambitious and completely amoral; ... however, he has been coming out with statements suggesting that he is, in fact, a dangerous fool." - Reply to this comment
- Paul Ryan is a Conservative who can compare & contrast the drastic differences between supply-side economics and Keynesian economics.
Supply-side economics allows a business to keep more of its profits for reinvesting back into the business. This reinvestment increases economic activity, increases employment, and ultimately increases tax revenues to our gov't.
Compare that to the Keynesian policies of the Obama Administration that has governed under the notion that a nation can "spend their way back to prosperity" while it redistributes wealth.
The failure of both, Obama's Keynesian economic experiment in America, and decades of it in Europe make a stark contrast to the successes of supply-side economics put into use under JFK, Reagan, and Bush II.
That leaves the Obama campaign with little choice but to continue with the agenda of proscription that it has launched, and is trumpeted through their cohorts in the Liberal media. - Reply to this comment
- "Creature of Washington"? Is this opinion piece supposed to be unbiased news?

- Something to look for - the closer Ryan gets to actually having the juice to implement his little 'granny-on-a-budget' number crunching, the more he's going to have to back away from it.
Because it's not actually feasible without tanking the economy. Which no President is going to be willing to do for the sake of lowering the budget.
Deficit cutting is hugely contractionary.
So you should start to see Ryan back away from some of his own ideas. Unless both he and Romney conspire to deceive voters by trying to have it both ways, in saying they're FOR budget cutting, but AGAINST making actual cuts.
I would expect something like that - R&R on the 'double-talk' express. Which sounds really slimy, except that Barack is the king of double-talk. So it'll be coming at us from both sides I would guess ... - Reply to this comment
- WOW to call Paul Ryan an 'idea' man is a REAL stretch ... he's not at all.
He's like a little penny-pinching granny-on-a-fixed-income budget balancer.
I don't think he's smart enough to be able to analyze complex issues on a big picture scale ... that's what 'ideas people' do.
But both Obama and Romney are smart enough - they just care more about the politics than the substantive issues.
Paul Ryan - NOT an ideas person ... I think it's over his head ... - Reply to this comment
- In the places I've worked "idea man" is the phrase used to, pejoratively, refer to the faker who doesn't do any real work. That seems to fit here quite well. Pretty Boy has gotten two bills through Congress in his 13 years, but he never misses a day at the Congressional gym. Yep, an "idea man."
