- Do you believe in cutting government spending during an economic crisis? I dare you to watch this tutorial from an noted economist. Paul Krugman arguing with conservatives about European austerity. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_r-AKruzmkk
I wish politicians would be required to take Economics 101. - Reply to this comment
- I was viewing the CBS home page, on the right side of which was a list of links to various news stories. To the left of it was the large photo panel with accompanying newslink. I was about to click on the right hand link to "Untreatable gonorrhea worries health officials" when the photo panel changed to the caption "Clinton: Recovery could last a decade".
For some strange reason I found this quite entertaining. - Reply to this comment
- What Clinton did not state and needs to be said is that with the country in the toilet on the economy, why did Obama focus on health care the first two years in office? Why did he continue the expensive wars? Why has Obama more than doubled DIRECT foreign aid when so many Americans are not scraping by? Overall hope and change has broken every promise he made in his last run for president. That is what Clinton should have said as an American.

- Despite the misleading headline, Clinton DID NOT say it will take ten years. What he said was that hsitorically it takes 10 years but we need to beat that.
Now I have asked this question a few times already without an answer but I will give it another shot because I am sure that there at least 1 or 2 smart conservatives that can and should be able to explain.
If, Romney should win in Nov and the GOP holds onto the House and retakes the Senate what specific measutes will be taken that will restore jobs and the economy. How will those measures do that and how long will it take in years.
If you can be specific, offer a resonable time line and provide realistic and beliveable solutions you will probably convince a few Obama/Dem supporters to rethink their positions. On the other hand if all you do is criticize those you disagree with and toss out red herrings then you really will have wasted your time. I will check back periodically to see if anyone has answered. - Reply to this comment
- You Libs had better "suck it up". If your lies would have EVER done any good, they won't now.. Obama is on his way out... and you Libs can talk about Bush and Reagan all you want, it's not going to do any good... In case you haven't noticed... they're both gone, gone, gone.... just like Obama is going to be gone, gone, gone. I'm trying to tell you that you have to quit swallowing the Liberal line and believing and parroting everything the Liberals tell you... Two and two DON'T add up to be five. Too many people have wised up.. It's your turn to wise up... We're not going to allow you Libs to lead our country to destruction.. Sorry, you've worn out your usefulness AND your welcome..

- @Reaganer - Please explain how Romney and a Republican Congress would do it in less time. If you answer convincingly you may actually convert a few to the Republican side. Just list some of the actions this new team would take, how those actions will stimulate jobs and the economy and how long those actions will take to bring us back to full employment. Also please state what "full employment" in your eyes means, i.e. 4% unemployment.

- In 1992, Ross Perot tried to warn the American people that the policies that then candidate Clinton was proposing...that of NAFTA would result in a huge American job loss that would make a great sucking sound for all to hear. Clinton went on to passing that legislation and the rest is history. Clinton also passed legislation like the repeal of Glass-Steagal and the so called expanding affordable housing did two things, it allowed banks to gamble deposits and also give loans to people who would have difficulty repaying those loans leading to bankruptcy and increased housing prices and allowing the risk from such loans to be forwarded to investors in the form of derivatives that caused the 2008 bringing us to the housing crisis of 2008. Bush was a moron, but many of the financial issues of today have been helped along by Clinton era legislation. I wouldn't talk if I was him.

- Clinton is too quick to forget it was the Republican congress that forced him to a balance budget,at the time he cried and whinned about it,but now he takes all the credit. History for you newly educated ones.

- Technology is replacing jobs faster than they are being created and ten years is going to change that? That is ridiculus.

- If all do research it was the wealthy Reoublicans like Prescott Bush duPonts, Morgan, Chase to name a few that slowly over the 1920's created the 1929 Wall Street crash, suported the party in Germany, our depression that took 10 years to recover. A repeat came when Bush took office in 2001, and slowly the Wealthy again created another Wall Street crash in 2007,... another depression in the works. The elite funds another party, The Tea Party Movement. So another 1o years to recover so the Wealthy can build up their bank account. The invasions that started wars by Bush, and Obama continues, and the Tea Party wealthy will also continue. As in the 1930's most all poor young will be sent to War,... most wealthy will attend college.
