- This is supposed to be OUR CONGRESS. This goes to the heart of the problem with our so called leaders. Living a "special life". Separated from the rest of us. Not working for us. Working for their own political gain. John Boehner immediately blames the president and says how they are working on other bills Energy, Commerce. What about Children with CA not getting drugs that will SAVE THEM. Stop being a politician and start being a HUMAN and help these Children. THAT IS WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE. Oh that's right, it's not something that matters to you. It's not your family, not your grandchild. It doesn't torch you. Stand up and be accountable. And Majority Leader (joke title) Harry Reed says "that's the way it's always been". Exactly the point. It is time to change. We the People want a change. START NOW. HELP THESE KIDS. Do something you can be proud of. You are SELFISH, SELF ABSORBED, Heartless. How do you sleep??????

- You think this is bad. Wait five years until Obama care is in full swing. Perfect example why our government needs to stay out of health care. I'm sure this bill will flush money to the drug companies once approved. Of course the drug companies are going to wait, they make more money. After all, isn't this about money?

- The best thing that could happen to better and benefit the U.S would be term limits in the house and senate, period.

- This is an interesting problem as it involves two groups battling to see who can get the lowest popularity ratings ever, Congress and pharmaceutical companies.

- well lets start out with Reid in his lamo excuse. Oh its just that way in the Senate. GIMME A BREAK! GIVE THOSE KIDS A BREAK!
Then we move on to a real A hoe playing politics with these kids lives. Last time I looked, Boner, it wasnt the president's job to push something through congress. This kind of blame passing makes me wanna puke.
So now we have bipartisnship........bipartisan inaction!
The real pigs in this whole story, however, are the drug companies. They make the oil companies look like angels. "oh...we cant make enough money on these drugs!!!!!" These scum sucking b tards have been making billions on every other drug. I have to buy something as common as Nexium at $5 a pill. A friend of mines arthritis meds are over 1000 dollars a month AFTER the insurance company pays their share.....but they dont mind lettin the kids die.
some of their bean counters and CEOs should be shot. - Reply to this comment
- If a child of any member of congress needed these drugs, would they get them? You can count on it!

- One can only hope that if another child dies because of this, that they are related to someone in Congress.

- It's really easy to fix this. Make all of Congress liable for their actions or non actions. If someone dies from them not doing their job, it comes out of their money and they are banned from ever holding a position again. Simple as that, congressional accountability, something we have none of now.
The other answer is to fire every single person in Congress and start fresh. - Reply to this comment
- Obviously, in an election year nobody wants the other side to get an emotional win, such as treating children with terminal diseases. It's a shame that politics is played over these kind of issues.
Although, I personally have not reviewed the bill, I would not be surprised to find "PORK BARRELING" happening in this bill like it happens in all bills trying to make it's way through the legislature.
The correspondent didn't make any reference to this in the report. But I would to see a follow on this article investigating that issue. - Reply to this comment
- Love how John B was like "where is the president" Well DUH president is ready to go but it wont get to his desk for signing unless it makes it through the gauntlet, maybe Mr Bainer doesn't understand how the bill process works.
