- They're just pursuing him now because he's trying to expose the truth about our current, illegitimate, commander-in-chief (non US-born) AND he's attempting to enforce our illegal immigration laws. Ooooh! Shame, Shame!!! He sounds like a true Patriot to me. It's really all as simple as this. I say, more power to ya Joe!! :)

- As a voter and resident of Maricopa County, I have first hand knowledge of what is going on here. I see it daily on the news, first hand accounts and personal experience in dealing with MCSO.
First off to all those on this board who are supporting Arpaio because of his illegal immigration stance, let me point you to this comment made by Mr. Arpaio in 2005 "It's not my job to enforce immigration laws." Then 2 years later, in 2007 he was all about enforcing immigration laws to get elected to a fifth term and is using the same card to try to win a six term. This man is nothing but a publicity hound who will prostitute himself in front of any camera to get attention.
Secondly; As Sheriff of Maricopa County, Joe Arpaio has cost the taxpayers over $117 Million dollars in lawsuits. His office under his "leadership" misappropriated another $100 million dollars in jail enhancement funds for trips to Honduras, Sheriff's conferences and Deputy overtime pay related to his illegal Maricopa Anti-Corruption Enforcement group(which by the way cost the taxpayers another $35 million dollars in settlements for going after judges and a County Board of Supervisors member with trumped up charges)and there are still outstanding lawsuits still to be resolved. All which were illegal under the law which only authorized that money to be used for jail enhancement and detention officer salaries and benefits.
Third, Mr. Arpaio violated county procurement policies and procedures by spending a half million dollars on a new jail bus by not getting competitive bids and submitting them to budgeting authorities. Which in Maricopa County is illegal.
Fourth; under his watch we had several homicides in his jails committed by Detention Staff. These cost the taxpayers of Maricopa County $30 million dollars to date and no prosecutions.
Fifth; Under Mr. Arpaio's term in office, he filed charges against a Chandler (Arizona) Police K-9 Sgt for an accidental death of his police dog. Not only did this cost the taxpayers $150K for the investigation, the case was thrown out when evidence surfaced that under Arpaio's term six K-9 dogs died in a similar way and no charges were ever brought against those MCSO Deputies. Selective enforcement cost the taxpayers $1.5 M.
Sixth; His pink underwear just cost the taxpayers more money when its decided by the Arizona Federal District Court and its considered illegal.
He was against illegal immigration before he was against it and its only because it was politically acceptable. We the voters in Maricopa County are tired of his antics that is why his poll numbers have dipped below 50% recently.
If those of you who want him as your sheriff, please take him. We want a professional in office and Joe Arpaio is not that person. - Reply to this comment

- We don't have a problem with illegal Asians pouring across our borders, nor do we have illegal Irishmen, illegal Eskimos or illegal New Guinea headhunters. The problem is illegal Hispanics. So saying you can't be suspicious of Hispanics is kind of like saying you can't be suspicious of the guy in line at the bank wearing the ski mask, carrying a big sack and with his hand in his jacket pocket.

- I fail to see what Arpaio has done to make people so angry? He is simply enforcing the laws - that's his job! Which laws do you want him to enforce, and which ones should he ignore, exactly?
He didn't write these laws, your elected officials did! Are most of you suggesting that we just through out the rule of law?

- This bigoted ,depends-wearing, POS is a disgrace to the nation and even to a state that wants to go back to the 19th century. The Obama administration should make this idiot the poster boy of the far right to drive up Latino votes this fall. I'd like to see a million Hispanics who are US citizens move to AZ, flip it blue, and vote sacks of schit like Arpaio out of office.
