Here's a question. CBNS why aren't you reporting on how this kids mother is trying to trademark mutliple sayings that have come from this situation. Pitiful. If my son were killed I;m pretty sure the last thing on my mind would be to make money off of it.

What happened right after Trayvon Martin's shooting?

Well for one thing he died for behaving like a criminal deserves to after trying to bash Zimmerman's head against the ground until he either had serious brain damage or died from a concussion.
He was also trying to get Zimmerman's pistol away from him to shoot him with it.

If he he had, this story would have remained a local story without the race and hate crime spin in it.

Crimes by blacks against Hispanics and whites are never ever considered hate crimes. Just your run of the mill crimes and the biased and truly racist liberal media could care less.

Martin's parents, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and the racist black community in this country would have said Zimmerman had it coming.
They are such hypocrites that no one should ever buy into this sort of race baiting circus.

I'd like to know how Zimmerman got approved to purchase a gun. I mean two previous arrests and he is still allowed to carry a gun? According to Zimmerman the altercation started when he returned to his car but when the shooting went down they were nowhere near his vehicle. And Zimmerman was told by a police dispatcher not to follow Martin and he did anyway. Zimmerman was clearly the aggressor. And I applaud the lead investigator in the case and affirm the fact that manslaughter charges should have been filed in this case. The Sanford Police Department really dropped the ball on this case from beginning to end and the fact they are leaking Martin's school record is deplorable. But one would have to wonder, are the police watching Zimmerman now or will they allow him to slip out of the country when arrest time draws near?

"Pretty much sounds to me like this shooting fatality was not treated like a shooting death at all. Not nearly as much as it was handled like some road kill misfortune..."

Very aptly put!

What did the Sanford PD do?

They released a man KNOWN to have shot an unarmed minor to death WITHOUT even giving hom a drug and alcohol screen...or siezing his clothing which would have contained a wealth of forensic information (if the killing had gone down the way Zommerman tells it)

Blood spatter patterns, gunshot residue...all ignored because the decision had already been made that Zimmerman had committed no illegal act.

Zimmerman had no right to pursue someone who's looks he didn't like so that he could "stand his ground" and shoot him to death. As for the stuff about his breaking off his pursuit and walking back to his vehicle when he was "attacked from behind" seems a bit like self-serving BS as told by the survivor...but I don't really know...NO ONE KNOWS...because the police did not investigate anything that might give the retired Supreme Court Magistrate's son a problem...

How far from Treyvon Martin's body was the SUV? Why was it never searched?

That's not incompetent...THAT'S CRIMINAL!

This might never become an international sensation and an embarrassment for America if the police had followed NORMAL investigative procedure.

Had tests shown that Zimmerman had drugs or alcohol in his system...he would have (or at least SHOULD have been arrested at the scene.

But that was not allowed to happen...

WHY?

We can argue the merits of this case until the horses come home. The bottom line is that people believe what they want to believe. Just look at some of the baseless arguments. And where did people get their information? From the media, from heresay, from accusations, from Al Sharpton, and God knows where else. The District Attorney didn't feel he has a case so he is evil or incompetent or a racist. The police chief didn't feel he had a case so he is evil, incompetent, or a racist. A black friend comes to Zimmerman's defense so he isn't really black. Then the right to shoot law is flawed and the list goes on.

I understand that there was an Emergency HOA (Home Owners Association) Meeting where it was discussed that Zimmerman's behavior was a problem to the community. I'm sure the HOA is running scared, trying to avoid a lawsuit for wrongful death. Now that we know the lead homicide investigator on the Trayvon Martin case, Chris Serino, filed an affidavit on the night of the crime saying he was unconvinced of Zimmerman's account and recommended that George Zimmerman be charged with manslaughter only to be denied by the state attorney's office of Mr. Norman Wolfinger speaks volumes. In addition former Sanford Police Chief Brian Tooley was relieved of his duties one month before his retirement (this is serious when you are fired 30 days before you retire) due to a video showing the son of one of his Lieutenants beating a homeless black man to the point of unconsiousness (it's on YouTube). And even though police were notified, Mr.Collison was not arrested on the night of the incident; it took a month for an arrest warrant to be issued.

"It seemed like it was a cover-up by the department," NAACP spokesman Turner Clayton said.

"It brought into question the honesty and transparency of our Police Department," Interim City Manager Tom George said.

Now that Police Chief Bill Lee, who recently replaced disgraced Sanford Police Chief Brian Tooley, has stepped down temporarily (he will not be back) and a Captain is acting Police Chief, I note that he is black, good for them. Maybe proper Police Procedures will be followed!

Did the police spcifcally tell Zman "Not" to follow "suspect"? Zman puposely disregarded what police told him not to do. If he had listened to cops orders would trayvon still be alive? People keep bringing up what Trayvon did at school. He skipped school. He had traces of pot in book bag would be late to school and another charge I can't remember. Zman's charges are much more violent. Women are taught how to defend themselves. Kicken knee caps. smashin noses, striking the man in his jewels and sticking fingers in the attackers eyes. Was zman in unifirm? How can we no for sure Trayvon wasn't protecting himself. He was being followed by zman and zman looks pretty scary to me. I would not stop for a man looking that frightning. Travon was doing nothing wrong, so why stop for crazy lookin man.And to learn two relatives works for court system, one being a judge. Hmmm. With zman's violent history, how did he pass background check for his job? Did judge get him job? and one last comment; during 911 call from zman he was told not to follow and during same call tv bleeped part of what zman's comment were were when he told cops those BlEEPS never get caught. Wanna bet it was the vulgar N word. That told me Z was racist and angry. And it was his racist comment, failure to stop following suspect and tv bleeping out one word when he said those bleeps never get caught. I think zman was angry and racist as hell and that is why zmzn disobeyed police orders.
Would like to know zmans IQ and who cleared zmans background check?

Nobletruth: "Just like CBS to ask what happened afterwards instead of telling the truth"

Instead of spewing your right-wing LIES and DECEPTIONS, try reading the latest from a conservative news source -- drudge:

Trayvon Martin Investigator Wanted Manslaughter Charge

The lead homicide investigator in the shooting of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin recommended that neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman be charged with manslaughter the night of the shooting, multiple sources told ABC News.

But Sanford, Fla., Investigator Chris Serino was instructed to not press charges against Zimmerman because the state attorney's office headed by Norman Wolfinger determined there wasn't enough evidence to lead to a conviction, the sources told ABC News.

Police brought Zimmerman into the station for questioning for a few hours on the night of the shooting, said Zimmerman's attorney, despite his request for medical attention first. Ultimately they had to accept Zimmerman's claim of self defense. He was never charged with a crime.

Serino filed an affidavit on Feb. 26, the night that Martin was shot and killed by Zimmerman, that stated he was unconvinced Zimmerman's version of events.
