What? No self destruct option? It would have been a great time to blow the thing up while the "enemy" was displaying their booty live on TV. How far back is this going to set our country. How many $Billions of taxpayer dollars have gone to waste because of arrogance. We are a nation at war and some moron doesn't consider a self-destruct option in one of our most classified pieces of technology? "Come on man." And, why are we not bombing the crap out of the location where the enemy hid drone? Why would we allow Iran to even get close to our drone? I wonder...

What I find amazing is that the US drone fleet is infected with a key stroke capture virus. The claim was the drones were operated on an independent network so "no worries". If the Iranian claim is true that this was captured by a cyber attack then any drone flying in that region is liable to be hijacked. Hackers are active around the world and there should be no reason to assume Iran does not have it's fair share. Russia is cozy with Iran, and US Russian relations are at a low point. Russia has a fair percentage of capable hackers. Time for the US to look at the security of the command and control system and also, as suggested, incorporate self destruct capabilities if legitimate command is lost,

Why can't we just hit the storage facility with a cruise missile?

What an absolute embarrassment to the US military. Our most sophisticated military equipment bought down by a hack....

So first you tell us they shot it down, and then you say they captured it, and now we learn they most likely landed that thing by taking it over. So what is to stop them from taking over the next one we allow our government to fly over there fully loaded and turning it on our friends?

I am voting Ron Paul for president because it's his policies that would stop these kinds of things from taking place. Grow a spine GOP and get behind Ron Paul like the majority of smarter American's.

How bad-ass would it be if we did go in and get it back?

It makes sense that the Pentagon is clamming up for national security reasons. We wouldn't want the Iranians to know that we know that they have our top secret drone and all it's classified goodies.

I read that the military had a plan to covertly regain the craft but was stopped by the Obama administration who feared it might upset the Iranians if we did. More of Obama's political correctness. Another example was sited today when it was disclosed that the Obama administration classified the terrorist attack by Major Hassan as "work place violence" instead of an attack by a muslim extremist!! We need Obama out of the White House and all his ultra left corrupt friends too.

This is a very interesting looking aircraft. I am particularly interesting in the section that appears to be where a cockpit would normally be. Since this is an unmanned aircraft, I see no logical reason for that portion. Clearly this aircraft, being a spy plane has some sensitive equipment on board, but the positioning and appearance of the front top is very strange.
