ACORN has been a bad actor for a long time; this is not news. They are already under indictment in 12 states for voter registration fraud, have stormed corporate board rooms to extort concessions, taken possession of foreclosed properties, and have directors embezzle money. They should not be receiving tax payer money. Yes, Obama did defend them as an attorney and worked as a trainer for the organization. But lets not forget McCain engaged ACORN as advisers on immigration policy. Just like both parties engaging advisers from LaRaza [literally "the race"] they engage in practices that are against the best interests of the public to achieve their political agenda. This is not a football game and you shouldn't be a fan. We all need to analyze each issue as responsible citizens and stop corruption. Don't depend on news organizations, nearly all of which have avoided this story. They have all avoided detailed profiles of the Czars as with Van Jones. Let you congressman you want ACORN investigated!!!

I have never posted here before that I can remember, and I try to educate myself by scanning all the media outlets, becuase I definetely became aware of an US vs Them style of reporting during this last election, it might have always existed but I was unaware prior to.

I did not vote for Barack Obama, yet once the election was over I was able to get past the disappointment and found myself opening up to the possibilities ahead, given the overwhelming national enthusiasim surrounding President Obama's victory.

I can tell you this much, I am once again disappointed, this time becuase President Obama represented to me a sort of "new sherrif in town" He was the one who was going to clean house, Washington would be once and for all on notice, corruption was not going to be tolerated, yet almost a day does not pass, where we see the same old status quo from both sides and the President has yet to wield a "Big Stick"

BOTH LIBERALS AND CONSERVATIVES should be up in arms about this. How come two citizens have to do the job that our authorities should be doing? the level of corruption is mind boggling. BOTH REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS ARE GUILTY-CORRUPT... and the silence of the media speaks louder than words.

THE REAL PROSTITUTE HERE IS THE MEDIA.

It's interesting that CBS chooses to bury this story deep inside their Web pages and not blare the headlines on the front page. If ACORN was a Republican-backed organization instead of the liberal left Democrats, CBS and the other main stream media would be screaming for someone's head. Nice job CBS, of not reporting the news and sensationalizing current loser and former president Carter's left field opinion on Wilson's outburst. Frankly, I don't care about Carter's opinion. I care more about corruption backed by the left and the feigned blindness of CBS.

Maybe Dan Rather could have got his job back if he broke this story. But he was scooped by two college kids.

He was too busy printing out some more Bush documents from the 1960's in MS Word.

Come on CBS, where is the real investigative journalism. Get on this you lazy sobs.

Like any other organization that starts out small and fulfilling a genuine need, ACORN has outgrown its usefulness and ability to police itself. Rapid growth means they have taken on the wrong people. Perhaps it's time to disband ACORN and say "Mission Accomplished".

Obama actually worked for ACORN in Chicago. Also, the head of the SEIU, a close associate of Obama, is the founder of ACORN's brother.
slownewsday5 - thanks for the links. I've been checking the CBS headlines on my IPhone for a week, and this story never showed up.

"...the founder of ACORN's brother..." Would that make him ACORN's father?

The brother of the founder of ACORN was at one time also a part of the ACORN elite but there were whisperings of a $1m embezzlement and just as suddenly the whispers went away and the guy left ACORN for SEIU.

Maybe journalism is not dead. It only took CBS 4 days to cover a MAJOR news story. This is the reason I watch and listen to FOX, BALANCED AND FAIR.
