Comments on: Tea Party Protests Rally Against Taxes
Many Spent Independence Day Speaking Out Against Federal Spending
- Ed Rendell refuses to sign Pennsylvania's budget unless it includes a substantial increase of personal income tax. Rendell has many special interests he pays through the state treasury. Ed perpetrated graft, conspiracy, and obstruction of justice. Whatever happened to the criminal prosecution of crooked politicians?

- Where were these people during the Bush regime, when he added more to the national debt than the first 42 presidents combined? They don't care about spending or they would have been out in force then. What they care about is this particular spending doesn't sit well with their twisted ideology.
How much better would the world have been if we had not invaded Iraq for no reason, and had invested just half of those trillions that Bush and Cheney blew into health care and education instead? Oh and if we hadn't let the fiscal dogs completely loose with no supervision to feed like rabid wolves on everyone else's money? - Reply to this comment

- ffoulkes-2009 delusionally states:
"GW took two terms to do that...it is taking Obama less than 1 year."
------------------------
Sorry, but the facts don't support your false rhetoric!
The bush monkey will forever be known as the $5 Trillion monkey, doubling our national debt in 8 short years to $10.7 Trillion.
It now stands at $11.3 Trillion, a $600 Billion increase mostly due to lowered revenue due to the bush/cheney depression, and will hardly match dubya's terrible BORROW AND SPEND idiocy by the end of his term!
Try providing FACTS for once, instead of foxnewsus propagandus!

- Like the legal overthrow of the Iraqi government back in 2003 if you call legal 'I'm gonna get him cuz he tried to kill my poppy' W DumbA** and while we're there 'might as well make my OIL buddies and my Military Industrial Complex buds some easy money' W DumbA**.
The U. S. will be in Iraq and Afganistan indefinitely. Afganistan broke the Soviets in the 80's and it will break the U. S. also. You want the real culprits of terrorism..they're in Saudia Arabia and in Pakistan. Oh, and they're in a posh section of Dallas and wherever 'Seed of Satan' Cheney lays his HORNS at night.

- Conservatives have no problem with taxes if the money goes for wars and invasions, walls around the US, secret prisons, torture chambers, dis-infringement of minorities, wiretapping of Americans, etc., etc. They only complain when they see their taxes being used to try and better the country.

- Dear pvperson3: I know that Obama has curbed the freedom of press, but at least you should be aware that Obama has increased war spending in Afghanistan and Biden acknowledged the success of the Iraq war in promoting democracy (in his speech today). Speak facts - not sentimental words that stir up the emotions of anti-intellectual liberals.
- Agree with pvperson. And where are the signs today protesting the 830 billion dollars spent thus far on Bush's war?
- Didn't you READ THE NEWS ITEM?????
While many of the signs at the protests blame President Barack Obama for government overspending, the people CBS News talked to were just as upset with Republicans.
Liberals are allergic to facts.

Let's see. Republicans think creationism is science, global warming is propaganda, WMDs justified going to Iraq and Bush did not lie about it, the U.S. health care system is the best in the world, we'll find enough oil for U.S. needs by drilling every square inch of our territory, markets are efficient and don't need to be regulated. Oh yeah, sounds like the Republicans know what they're talking about.
- Along with high taxes, our socialist liberal messiah supports the leadership in Iran for stomping out a revolution for freedom, and he now stands arm and arm with Chavez protesting a "legal" overthrow of the Honduras leftist thug president. He supports everything opposite of what America was founded on. AMERICA! WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO WAKE UP!!!!!!

Just where in the he!! were you? You are eight years too late, and trillions of dollars too short, you idiot!
- I'm sorry to have to tell you this, Try, but you guys lost. We now have control of two of the three branches of the federal government. Within the next eight years we will also have control of the Judicial branch. We make the rules now. There is nothing you can do about it! So, go ahead and whine. Stomp your feet and bang your heads on the floor. The fact is, America has begun to wake up, and your dinosaur party is irrelevant. Over the past two years millions of conservatives have opened their eyes and decided that they can no longer define themselves as republicans. The number of people in America who are willing to present themselves as republicans is dwindling, depending on the day you check the number bounces between 17% and 21%. Headed for single digits. Keep your current mindset and soon you will be all alone. That's one vote for Palin, huh?
- No. America has closed its ears to the BS Republicant party and idiots like you who support their idiotic, outdated, unwanted party.
- That's it Demwatcher you just keep the spirit up! Sure the Republican Party doesn't exist anymore outside the South and sure they only represent 25% of the People but you just keep peddling that Republican Lie. Can you repeat it for us... just for old times sake. "Deficits don't matter"! When your party says things like that, maybe you shouldn't hold your breath?
- "2010 will see the beginning of the end of the Democrat party, and 2012 will usher out the era of Obama when Sarah Palin sends the idiot back to Illinois. " - DemWatcher3
Perhaps you haven't heard: Palin is OUT OF POLITICS. After returning to Alaska as a BIG FAILURE, she couldn't take the heat from HER OWN STATE, so she just quit her job, much like she quit 4 different colleges... she is a QUITTER!
- The Messiah Obama has taken control of the weak-willed left and forges a path of servitude and debt. Liberals never studied history, so they cannot foresee what awaits this once proud nation.
by DemWatcher3 July 4, 2009 5:44 PM PDT
What religion do you belong to? I know of no Messiah named Obama. There is the Christian Messiah Jesus Christ. How unkind of you to use the word, "Messiah" in such a cheap fashion. Shame on you!
- President Obama just told the AP that he wants another 'engine' or Greenspan bubble to boost the economy.
He said that the carbon-swaps-tax would be that 'engine' or the new 'British-bubble South Sea Company', that helped wipe out most of Europe and plunged it into a Dark Age for generations.
Folks, I try to warn you with everything I got to listen to Lyndon Larouche and help stop the bailouts of Goldman Sucks and JP Morgan.
Goldman Sucks, JP Morgan, and British Banks like Barclay's Capital needs the bailout money to start this new 'South Sea' bubble which was a complete fraud, like the Dutch 'Tulip' bubble.
The difference about this carbon-swap-tax 'bubble' is that the derivatives to be used in it will kill and reduce the human population by 2/3rds.
Once the American sucker makes the mistake and transfers what's left of their 401(k)s and pensions over to these mega-hedge funds like Black Rock and the Carlyle group for 'green stocks', it's over.
Because then it will be a 'systemic risk' to back out of the 'carbon-swap-tax' bubble.
Please connect the dots folks, don't be a herd of sheep and fall for this Wall Street/City of London scam.
Even Mitt Romney said: "...we must do something about CLIMATE CHANGE" which makes him just another partisan puppet for BIG FAILED BANKS.

Where were you eight years ago when the conservatives took a surplus and ran it into a deficit!

- DemWatcher3, all I can say is, you're delusional! Sarah Palin isn't sending anyone anywhere! She's an incompetant ignorant drama queen. If this is the person, or type of person, you look to for leadership, you have more problems than the country does!
- These right-wingers try to attach The Messiah on Obama as if trying to deal with the country's serious challenges, exacerbated by Republicans if not in fact brought on by them, is a bad thing. What nonsense. At least when people used to refer to Bush as the Boy Emperor, the name resonated both here and abroad and the scorn appropriate. Typical of conservative imagination to find the dots forming connections without the support of evidence.

Ok, I really want to know where you are getting your numbers from. I think you are lying to yourself, but then again what else is new? That seems to be the only thing you can do. Considering the fact you have yet to prove this in anything you post. Why should I or anyone else believe you? Your numbers are flawed.

- What these people do not seem to realize is, if bailouts and stimulus money had not been given to various firms, the whole capitalist system would have broken down.
Perhaps this would have been a good thing in the long run?
Because then we would have to invent a new form of economy that is neither communist nor capitalist.
But conservatives think capitalism is not an ideology but something natural. In that they err. But the breakdown of no government spending at all would have been a nice accomplishment for all liberal minds - what a paradox. - Reply to this comment

- These Tea Baggers need to Buy a Clue, Here is One:
It is not a Democrat versus Republican issue, it is the ones that you are lining up to protect (Fat Cats) versus everybody else.
The Great American Bubble Machine
Matt Taibbi on how Goldman Sachs has engineered every major market manipulation since the Great Depression
(conclusion)
Fast-forward to today. It's early June in Washington, D.C. Barack Obama, a popular young politician whose leading private campaign donor was an investment bank called Goldman Sachs ? its employees paid some $981,000 to his campaign ? sits in the White House. Having seamlessly navigated the political minefield of the bailout era, Goldman is once again back to its old business, scouting out loopholes in a new government-created market with the aid of a new set of alumni occupying key government jobs.
Gone are Hank Paulson and Neel Kashkari; in their place are Treasury chief of staff Mark Patterson and CFTC chief Gary Gensler, both former Goldmanites. (Gensler was the firm's co-head of finance.) And instead of credit derivatives or oil futures or mortgage-backed CDOs, the new game in town, the next bubble, is in carbon credits ? a booming trillion- dollar market that barely even exists yet, but will if the Democratic Party that it gave $4,452,585 to in the last election manages to push into existence a groundbreaking new commodities bubble, disguised as an "environmental plan," called cap-and-trade. The new carbon-credit market is a virtual repeat of the commodities-market casino that's been kind to Goldman, except it has one delicious new wrinkle: If the plan goes forward as expected, the rise in prices will be government-mandated. Goldman won't even have to rig the game. It will be rigged in advance.
- I heard nothing about tea-baggers mounting anew until just now. Why did'nt the news sites cover it before hand? Oh wait...I know, the teabaggers were'nt considered worthy news. Now the events are over the news just runs a story at how miserabally the events failed and how stupid the republicant neo is.
- "What I care about is the Trillion dollars of Pork that is handed out to most leftist groups. Including 4 Billion to Acorn. oh...and the fact Obama is a communist doesnt help either. " - enriqueGonzales
Enrique, you are completely misinformed. Acorn did NOT get 4 billion dollars. And Obama is NOT a communist. Who feeds you with these lies? I suggest you STOP listening to whomever it is.
- I agree! I'm beginning to think that capitalism or at least as it's been practiced in this nation since 1980 is flat not worth saving. When you look at our standard of living when we started down the road of Wealth Redistribution, we had the Highest Standard of Living in the World. Not any more. Now we are dead last among industrialized countries. That is evident everywhere you look. I'd be willing to bet the farm that NONE of these Protesters have lost their jobs!!

So what's your solution? MORE FREE TRADE? MORE GLOBALIZATION?
Well, that's Obama's solution.
- enriquieGonzales July , if Obama is a communist, then you are a nazi. Stop making such outlandish comments!
- Hello????? If bailouts are such a wonderful idea, why are small business owners NOT bailed out? Duh? By your premise, EVERY failed company should be bailed out, all the time, everywhere.
- In 1977 the wealthiest 0.1% of Americans made on average 20 times the income of the poorest 90% of Americans.
Today, that ratio is 80 times.
We are not overtaxed. Those who say so do the bidding of the wealthiest people on the planet, who had no small role in creating the casino capitalism that has just broken the American economy, revealing startlingly to ourselves just how smashed our manufacturing base has been for some time.
- And now, a short break from our regularly scheduled programming of rightwingers wailing about the return of COMMUNISM in America. A simple statistic:
Since 1980, the share of the nations income going to her richest 1% tripled, while the share going to her poorest 90% fell by 20% (or one-fifth). This means that in order for the wealthiest 1% of Americans to triple their income in the last 30 years, the ordinary working American gets paid, on average, $10000 less a year today than he would have been paid in 1980 proportions.
And now, back to the dangers of COMMUNISM, SOCIALISM, AND ALL THOSE OTHER -ISMS rightwing America works overtime to save us from!!
- Everybody knows that the dice are loaded

Everybody knows the good guys lost

Thats how it goes

- a Shout-out to rednomo, who clued us all into the 'Great American Bubble Machine' story at Rolling-Stone Magazine.
This article is HARDLY sympathetic toward Democrats, or the cap-n-trade legislation I have generally supported, but it DOES support the light being cast on financial institutions that aren't just 'too big to fail' but are actually big enough to TANK the American economy if it is in their profit-making interest to do so.
Compelling viewing.
