Nancy Pellosi promised to drain the swamp. Not only did she not drain the swamp she stocked it with a even more corrupt number of creatures. With the ability to pass any new laws because of the absolute majority the liberal swamp monsters they can even follow the blue print that the president's newfound comrades like Castro, Hugo Chaez and the rest of the communist/socialst dictators have drawn for their totalitarian regimes. They could even make Obama president for life.

I have lost all faith in the political system when this dirtbag can continue to commit crimes against the american people time and again. Maybe if he drowns a girl in his car like Ted Kennedy or maybe a ***** house in his home like Barney Frank they will fire him. Then again that didn't effect those guys.

The good people of Pennsylvania deserve so much better than the bloated, corrupt politician they have in Murtha. Where is Nancy Pelosi in her attempts to drive out the culture of corruption? Jane, Harmon, Jack Murtha, William Jefferson, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank....oh wait, they are all democrats. No wonder she is so quiet.

I have been a resident of Cambria County for 29 years. Yes, Congressman Murtha has done a few things. But, with his influence NO ONE should be unemployed in Cambria County. We should have numerous industries, creating jobs. But, NO! It is a shame for a Congressman to be in office this long. We have no railroads anymore because of the blessed "RAILS TO TRAILS". No infrastructure!!! This area should be booming.
Look at Senator Kennedy's district. Not much unemployment there! You should be ashamed Congressman Murtha.

Murpha got 15M for some unnecessary project and he lined his pocket with 800T. Pelosi is heavy into wind investment.. no conflick of interest. Her family does not allow unions on their property. Finstien just got a 25B deal for her husbands company. This does not include all the defense contracts she got him. Reid just happened to own all the land needed for a road funded by the govt. Frank had a friend at Fannie/Freddie which were bundling mgt. and the more bad loans the bigger the bonus. Biden got a bill passed and his lobbist son got 400000 for the deal. Maybe it is just a $1.50 to you but it is not. If there was npt crook in the congress willing to take kickbacks, we would not have someone offering. Gov't is the problem. Gov't caused this mess. Just line their pockets and create power. Wait till EPA starts closing plants because of emmisions. Wait till the farmer can't plant his field. Where will these union guys go. Better get your garden going and a good bicycle

What is the difference in Murtha and "Duke" Cunningham? When will the news media start to treat all parties alike? I think this is why so many no longer trust what the media says. CBS could get it's creditability back if it would start playing fair and reporting on both parties with equal treatment. I will continue to see if they ever decide to do so.

The people of my district--I am one of John Murtha's "constituents"--have no shame. They don't care that Murtha is a criminal, the worst representation of sleaze that Washington has to offer, a coward, a traitor to his uniform and to the flag of the United States. What they care about is the MONEY he brings in, no matter how ill-gotten it may be or how much a part of the problem it actually is. I say "they" because I have been fighting the Murtha corruption train since I moved to this area, and I will continue to do so until this absolute scoundrel is brought before the courts--either the federal one he should be facing trial in, or the court of public opinion which is absolutely (FINALLY) turning against him and his ilk.

Don't just complain about Washington excess and the Socialization of America...do something about it. Join the Red Hat Resistance!

Murtha should have been thrown out of office for his Abscam involvement. The FBI videotaped Murtha responding to an offer of $50,000, with Murtha saying, "I'm not interested... at this point. [If] we do business for a while, maybe I'll be interested.

I have nothing against earmarks that are for good projects. However, since President Obama is going to be cutting out the excess expenses and cutting what can be cut, I don't think Murtha is going to get what he wants this time. The budget is getting a trim and that will mean everything will be thoroughly reviewed.

You really believe Obama is going to be cutting excess? Good for you.

JOBS! JOBS! JOBS! These projects create Jobs! Murtha has created tens of thousands of jobs and these people appreciate that and vote for him! If he is not there, the money (and jobs) is just going to go somewhere else, and you will not get back one penny. Murtha Rocks!

$100,000,000 is .003% of 3,550,000,000,000.

If you made $50,000 per year, .003% is a buck and a half, (or $1.50); It won't even be missed. And then it will be added back in with earmarks later.

I am actually from Rep. Murtha's district. I no longer live there, but many of my family and friends still do. This is troubling to say the least. Murtha helped me during a very very terrible military medical experience. He and his staff represented me when I was unable to represent myself from a medical struggle which continued for 18 months, and needed very very specialized care outside of a military facility.

My military leadership I was under at the time, questioned my condition, and everything about my status all the while I was racking up medical bills & related expenses over $200,000.

" incompetent!" stated Mr. Murtha, and my leadership was held accountable for thier lack of regard for 'one of his own.'

But, this even raises my eyebrows....

I've questioned the Cambria County Airport, the National Guard Hangar, and the other 'pork festivals' Johnstown's been receiving.

Don't hate the people for what Murtha has done, or not done. His statements earllier about racist folks in that area-is true. Just as it is in your community but no one is BOLD enough to say it.

I dunno....this is troubling.

But I will say, since the 1980's it is commonly said in Johnstown, "If it weren't for Murtha, this town would be dead."

It will be after this investigation.

...and the people of Johnstown.....caught in the middle of this.

Rep. John Murtha personifies exactly what is wrong in Washington and why the status quo will not be breached, he is one of the "good ole boys" club.

Murtha along with many other old timers of both parties should be voted out of office.
Also, we should vote for term limits.

There are simply too many of these creeps in Washington who do not do what is good for the country but only that which is good for them and their office.

Power and money is the goal of Murtha and the other corrupted officials whose loyalty is only to themselves, their cronies, and their families..

Vote them out of office. Vote for term limits.

I agree with the many of you who noted that the label "DEMOCRAT" was completely left out of the article. The same was true of the first reports about Jefferson (?) in Louisianna, and about Spitzer when all of that went down. The "Republican" label was not left off of Foley or any other Republican that comes under suspicion. Check the archives.

This is subtle but VERY serious. If good folks weren't pointing it out, I doubt many of you would notice. Well done, folks.
