CBS Evening News Exclusive: Vaccine-Safety Group Study Shows Higher Instance Of Medical Side-Effects Than Another Vaccine
- Texas republican morons should know what did their Current governor tried to do with this drugs. All republican criminals are involved with this mess because they are the one make money from pharmaceutical companies and they do not give a *** on human lives as long as they make a buck.

What ever happened? Did the state pass that law? I think I would move out of the state before I allowed my daughter to become a guinea pig.... - Reply to this comment
- Anyone interested in knowing that Gardisil was never approved as a vaccine to prevent cervical cancer. This is absolute fact. Take a look at what Cancer Monthly has wrtten regarding this vaccine. Why are these criminal organizations being allowed to use our children as lab rats. Has anyone filed with VIC? Here is the article. http://www.cancermonthly.com/iNP/view.asp?ID=169

- The first thing that raised concern for me about this vaccine was how it was handled here in Texas. Within a couple of months of it being released the state was trying to pass a mandate require all girls get the vaccine prior to enrolling in 6th grade. Parents would have had to have proof of their young girls having the vaccine before they could go to school. This immediately had me suspitious and furious. E-mails to my governor were not kind. In no way was I going to let the state mandate my daughter get a vaccine for something that is not contagious to the general school population. This is only transmiited sexually so should not be required. Also since it is transmitted sexually then every boy in Texas should also get the vaccine so he can''t pass it to a girl. Texas never did push this through. I also asked my daughters doctor and he said they really thought the vaccine had not been out long enough to know the benefits or side effects enough to recommend it to their patients. That was all I needed to know to not have my daughter take this vaccine.

- cbs3200 is obviously someone incapable to doing their own research preferring to let others tell him/her only what he/she wants to hear. Fortunately most people are not allowing themselves to be so easily swayed in taking the time to say that clearly the safety of this vaccine needs to be reconsidered. Just as some of us who are allergic to eggs have had to do and as such do not take the flu vaccine. Another note for mothers and daughters....check out the horrible possible side effects of the contraceptive Depo Provera. DON''T READ WHAT IS PUT OUT BY THE U.S. Read the research from Europe where long-term studies have been done. Anytime the side effects include death or long-term damage - especially to children as young as nine - the benefits must be reconsidered. Regular pap smears and early treatment have been extremely effective in treating cervical cancer and I''ve near heard of anyone dying of anything more than embarrassment and humiliation over getting a pap smear. To say the least my daughters and son will not be getting the Gardasil vaccine.

- I, too, wish we had been given more info on possible side effects of Gardasil. My daughter, Brittney, has suffered for over 17 months with horrific nerve pain, pressure/migraine headaches daily, numbness and tingling with pain in her legs to the point she can''t walk without aid, blurred vision/abnormal pupillary response, facial, neck and spinal swelling, sensetivity to light, sound, smell, and lays in the dark in agony most days and nights. All because a doctor frightened her into taking Gardasil! Thank God her seizures have stopped, at least for the moment. This is a very dangerous vaccine that has not been fully tested long enough!

- I have seen the ads and ..I am too old for it which is a good thing . All they do push thid/that saying it is safe..I think it is time they over hauled it all. The greed and lies...I am not saying go back in the dark ages..Is it really needed..I am just a lay person.. I have very little faith in Drs. who push it. They have not idea what meds will do.. to the body..

- While it is unfortunate that your daughter has experienced bad side effects,
hopefully she will NOT experience cervical cancer.
Flu shots can cause negative consequences ... I will
bet you are not complaining about them! All of this B.S about more "testing" ......
WHO DO YOU SUPPOSE WOULD VOLUNTEER THEIR DAUGHTER AS A TESTING SUBJECT? YOU??????

They may not be called test subjects but that''s exactly what those that receive this shot are! DUH! - Reply to this comment
- not surprised by this at all. as far as i was concerned they were using these girls as guinea pigs. my daughters and i will not be getting it.

- In the "for what it''s worth" department, my daughter was advised by a specialist to NOT take the Gardisil shot.
The gist of the story being that the 2 strains of HPV virus targeted by Gardisil are in a family of virus related to warts.
She has dealt with severe warts on her hands since she was a very young child. We finally went to a very knowledgeable specialist that succeeded in getting rid of them and those "warts" are caused by one of the EIGHTY different types of Paploma viruses that could infect and cause other problems.
There is another vaccine in the works that targets SIX rather than 2 of that family of viruses and the makers of Gardisil wanted to "corner the market" before that other vaccine arrived. But neither were recommended.
Her specialist noted that she had been ALREADY infected by at least 1 strain and the vaccine works to PREVENT infection but not "cure" someone already infected.
At best it would "do no harm", at worst she would have a "severe" reaction as her body fought against the virus she already carried when the vaccine triggered her immune system.
She already deals with allergies. Pap tests when she needs them have worked well for decades and that type of cancer has never been a problem in our family.
So we took the advice and will wait for something better to be developed, tested and PROVEN to work without such a high risk. - Reply to this comment
- Best prevention seems to be not to have s3x with warty p_eni_sed guys.

- When I researched Gardasil the negative side affects were not out there. I believed what my doctor, the FDA and Merck had to say...I wish that I hadn''t! Like Emily if I''d have only known I wouldn''t have let my daughter get the vaccine. My 16 year old daughter Amber Kaufmann collapsed within 72 hours of her second shot on 3/31/08 with a seizure and cardiac arrest. She never regained consciuosness and passed away on 4/07/08. I just don''t want another famiy to go through what we have, so thank you for getting the word out this awful vaccine!

- OMG, as I was sitting here reading everyone''s comments that One Less commercial came on. They only list the mild "possible" side effects. I hate big drug companies and the fact that money is more important than the people getting sick or dying because of their so called vaccine.

- The risk of the vaccine really outweighs the benefits. Not all cervical cancer is caused by HPV and this vaccine only protects against two types of HPV that may cause cancer. I was diagnosed with HPV about three years ago. I was terrified when I read that I could possibly get cervical cancer because f it. The next year when I got my pap smear, it was gone. A year of worrying for nothing. So, since not all cervical cancer is caused by HPV and most strains of HPV don''t cause cervical cancer, then why take the risk of the obviously deadly side effects?

- Some, or most of the negative side effects of the vaccine may be reversed by the actual vaccine in homeopathic potency, but adjunctive homeopathic treatment may be required as well - this information is from an associate who is a qualified and experienced homeopath.

- SHAME SHAME SHAME!! I have sent CBS an email. They have thousands of parents going crazy right now. They should have told parents what to look out for if their daughter has had it. They really screwed up on this one. I have searched what I could on it and read the cases but they still should have told us further.

- If all vaccines come with risk, then mandating that people assume risk which could have deadly or otherwise costly consequences is completely unethical and violates the basic oath-"First do no Harm" not; do almost no harm, or only do harm to a few who are expendable in the quest for obscene profits, or only harm those who have no say in the matter like babies and young children who won''t be able to figure our what caused them to descend into a state of chronic health and disabilitiy because the truth is easy to obfuscate or hide with HIPPA laws or through doctors who refuse to report adverse reactions and so the true extent of harm can remain unknown! Offer up your sister and daughters for experimentation to these money grubbing goons...NEVER!!!!%Pr

- Thank you CBS for briniging to light the NEGATIVE attention that Gardasil and Merck deserve. My 11 y.o. daughter received this in 1/08 and has experienced muscle pain, fatigue, and chronic stomach pain. A year later she''s still on a neurologic medication called Neurontin to help her symptoms. Physicians refuse to acknowledgee that this particular immunization could have negative side effects. Thank you for making the public aware of the negative side effects. 14,000 adverse reactions and 35 deaths is not a small number to ignore. Look at the attention towards the peanut butter situation and the peanut butter has been taken off the market. WHY not Gardasil until more research has been done? Also, it would be nice for someone in the medical community to step up and try to find a way to help these girls receive tratment for their symptoms. Medical diagnostic tests come back negative. That''s scary isn''t it? Again, thank you for having the courage to do this program without worrying about hurting Merck''s feelings.

- As for cervical cancer and gardasil, there are other ways to prevent cervical cancer that do not involve injecting toxins into your body. They include annual pap smears, use of condoms and limiting the number of sexual partners. The public also needs to be aware that studies are not complete, and that pharmaceutical companies are experimenting on their children.Gardasil may even lead to an increase in cervical cancer,as no one has studied the unintended behavior changes that may occur among young girls and women which include failure to have an annual pap smear, failure to use condoms, or failure to limit the # sexual partners. Gardasil DOES NOT eliminate the need for annual pap smears, and girls may falsely believe they are protected from strains that are not contained in the vaccine. It is unknown whether or not the vaccine actually prevents cervical cancer, as it has not been studied long enough to establish prevention. Cervical cancer can take decades to develop. It is also unknown how long the immunity from the vaccine lasts, and whether boosters may be needed. These and many other reasons exemplify why vaccination needs to be a choice, not a mandate. If you are willing to assume the risk after educating yourself about any given vaccine, than that should be your right. If it is your determination that the risk is greater than you are willing to assume, you should have the freedom to decline vaccination without penalty.%Pr
