- shoplifting and crime, just 2 more earmarks of the george w bush / republican trickle down prosperity philosophy. each time a pass by a strip mall, with its bare store fronts, i think of just one more ''republican success story''. no wonder barack obama defeated george w bush III so soundly.

- WARNING:
"It is the point of total breakdown of the entire system. If some significant player in the global financial markets loses his nerve, or if someone goes flight-forward, that alone could trigger the total disintegration. I am talking about the kind of situation--within weeks--where you see a total freeze of economic activity, where you start to see mass deaths on the streets.''''

- MrMeatSpin If you can find a cup of coffee for .50cts your''re lucky, most places around me charge at least $1, even the little mom and pop restaurants.
We just had a local man arrested for stealing a christmas tree from a lot. The man has been laid off for 6 months and had no extra money to buy a tree for his children. The owner of the lot said if he would have asked him, he would have given him a tree. the lot owner is not pressing charges,The man said he was to proud to ask for charity. the city prosecuter is looking into the matter and the city might file charges.
I think the majority of americans will help someone down on their luck if the can. The problem is a lot of people are to proud to ask for help. And some people are going to steal no matter what. - Reply to this comment
- It could come to riots, especially in the big cities. The riots in L.A. after the Rodney King verdict were fueled by a relatively mild recession. This recession will be much worse.
The last 7 years of growth were an illusion because the growth was fueled mostly by borrowing - including massive government borrowing. It''s payback time and the price will be high. - Reply to this comment

If you are hungrey or need a roof ask someone and keep asking you will get help if you try and help yourself
