CBS Evening News Exclusive: Placid Midwest Town Turned Upside Down By Alleged Hit List And Secretive Group
- txgrouch2008: "Now for the bonus question: what was the REAL reason why we invaded Grenada? What MAJOR new story was someone trying to make us forget? Can you even remember it? No? Then IT WORKED. Go check the news archives and see what was the MAJOR news item just before we invaded Grenada. Not that one, the one before that. REMEMBER NOW???"
Well, since it can''t be the bombing of the marine barracks at Beirut because that was the one just before we invaded Granada, then it must be the one before that, which was that the Orioles beat the Phillies in the World Series. Right?????
Yah, they needed to make us forget that.

- I for one live in Shawano and I think that it was really scary when I heard about this.

- txgrouch2008 is doing exactly what he accuses CBS of doing -- distracting attention from a serious issue by emitting a lot of smoke to obscure that issue. I have 8 children, and ex-wife, and many friends in that cult, held captive by a deranged charismatic leader. There needs to be a national focus on the group so that people can be aware of the sinister nature of it. If enough of the evil is exposed, maybe some of the brainwashed members will leave. So txgrouch2008, please take your discussion somewhere else, and leave this blog for discussion of Rama Beherea aka Dr RC Samanta Roy aka Avraham Cohen and his sordid behavior and teachings.

- Some idiots think a mass murder plot by a secretive cult isn''t news? Wow. You are way, way, way too obsessed with politics. Take a step back, and just for an instant, pretend your mom, your daughter, your best friend, and a few others live in that town. Then think about how a murder list with 60 names on it is meaningless to you.

- DaGrandma--It baffles me when people complain that they "don''t want to hear about" a certain story. DON''T READ IT! There are plenty of stories about the issues that you feel are so much more important (and I agree - they are). So spend your time reading those. But, this is also legitimate news.

- Gee, a lot of people seem to think this and other news stories of the day are an attempt to keep the focus off the Illinois governor and all those damned corrupt Democrats in our government. Would this be anything like the Eliot Spitzer Client No. 9 news stories that covered the papers and airwaves last March while the Bush administration was handing over a $200 billion bailout to Bear Stearns?????

- txgrouch2008: Yeah! I mean, I don''t want to hear about this when there are over 4,000 dead Americans in the Iraq War! Why bother us with this when they can talk about the fact that we''re spending more than $250,000,000 dollars EVERY DAY in Iraq. I''d rather hear about illegal wiretapping by the Bush Administration!!!!

- When a group believes they are above everyone else, that God talks to their leader, when they have that cultish belief that no matter what, they are right - anything is possible - including a hit contract on an entire town. I find this very plausible, and very chilling, and I hope they get to the bottom of it quickly.

- It sounds an awful lot like the plot of Hot Fuzz.
Anyway not too worry the FBI is investigating these domestic terrorists. These stupid rednecks are going down. - Reply to this comment
