The CBS support of Criminal Gangs and Criminal Activity is disgusting. This town has covered up, supported and encouraged numerous Criminal Activities including International people smuggling gangs; Identity theft and the stealing of Social Security numbers. Now, the town is paying for its total disregard for the rule of law. The mayor should be indited for his part in the cover up.
CBS is repulsive and evil.

That''''s my whole point: These laws are not for everyone. If these workers in Iowa were white people from Ireland or Sweden, the laws would never be enforced! The people from South and Central America are getting SPECIAL treatment, special bad treatment. They are being targetted for deportation and harassment simply because of who they are.

There you go putting in those ''if''s''. That is a falicy to attempt to argue a point using ifs. The fact is that there are far more ''dark skinned'' ie. Mexican illegals in this country than any other ethnic group. That is why you hear more of Mexican illegals being caught than any other nationality.

Quit being a shil for Lulac.

We have the same problem with Californians, I''ve listed a few of them below.

How you can tell if you have California(n) as a neighbor.

8)They have phones on every fence post.

7)When you drive by and smell that familiar smell of roasted (congressional) Pork.

6)When you drive by and see banners in their front yard saying welcome home Sara, them *** right wingers were evil for giving you seven years for just killing someone and terrorizing the evil state we all live in.

5)When you put a pink flamingo out in your yard then they put one out too and then they claim that the idea was theirs and they are the trend setters.
4)When you see illegal immigrant protest signs in the front yard but overhear the Californian in the back yard telling the help consiga esa mala hierba (Get that weed)!

3)You look out your window and they are dumping their garbage on your lawn (State)
You ask them what they are doing and they start screaming about global warming then run into their house and hide.
2)They invite you for a party and when you arrive the search you! For guns-no, for terrorist-no, for illegal aliens- he-ll no, they search you for fruit flies!

1) You look out your window and see fire rising from your neighbors house (state) and find out that the dog has put a cap in the butt of the cat and now they are rioting and have lit the house (State) on fire.

I could never understand why the North American tribes in the 1699, 1700, 1800 and 1900 years never set up a Department of Homeland Security and an INS and asked all the whites to go home as they did not have visas or ask permission to land. Now that Americans send troops overseas to foreign countries such as Iraq, is it just a question of the population asking them to leave and whoosh - Away they go

Well, in anyone wants to keep living in Postville, they''''ll need to get productive at growing and stockpiling their own food. Grow potatoes, corn, and beans in the summer. Focus on maintaining some kind of livestock year round. Maybe learn to live how the native Americans did in that area, back before the encroaching White Man showed up to take over.

Maybe they could just look for other jobs in near bye towns and drive to work.

Please explain how the "system" is "stacked" against people from Latin America?

As far as I know the process is the same to become an American citizen no matter your background.

Being lazy or just not getting around to it is not an excuse.

It use to be that coming to America was a privilege not a right as some of the illegal immigrants seem to believe.

I am all for people starting a better life....just do it the proper way.

I pay taxes and so should each person who earns a wage in the US.

What a sad story to show the complicated mess that our economy is in. Illegal immigrants enter our country to make a better life for themselves working for a company that is unable to turn a profit paying living wages to its employees in a town that will die without this employer. There are a lot of dreams built on a quicksand foundation, and that is the way it is all over. No easy fixes here.

Another part of your argument that is dead wrong - We have LEGAL Hispanics (here they prefer the term Mexican) work ing for us. They are hard workers and they did it the legal way and they don''t have to be looking ove their back all of the time. Two of them are becoming US citizens. So that ruins your argument that the system is stacked against Latins. I have nothing against Latins coming to this country as long as they do it legally.

Operations manager Brent Beebe and poultry managers Hosam Amara and Zeev Levi are charged with similar crimes, although they are not suspected of committing bank fraud. Human resources employee Karina Freund, who previously was charged with harboring undocumented aliens for profit, now also is charged with conspiracy to harbor undocumented aliens for profit.

Beebe was arrested on Friday and was due to be arraigned Friday afternoon. Freund has previously appeared in court and is free while awaiting trial, due to begin in January. Amara and Levi are fugitives.

Rubashkin is being held without bail until trial. According to The Associated Press, federal agents found passports and about $20,000 in cash and silver stashed in a travel bag when they searched his home. In addition, prosecutors had alleged that Rubashkin tried to tamper with evidence when he was released from jail on the earlier charges related to employment of undocumented immigrants at the company.

I say this does exist to be a problem due to lack of any consistency with Homeland Security. My brother married a Philappino womam with four kids, which my brother adopted. He said it was a nightmare trying to get even his biological kids here..Every person''s rules were different according to the whim of what worker you got..
I also have mixed feelings due to dating an illegal El Salvadorian man. The companies get by not paying these people by listing them as "temp" and not giving benefits. My friend has "taxes"taken out of his money and I''m sure he just pockets the money. If the co.doesn''t want to pay you at all, they can do that too. Who do they go to? My friend has shown me pic of the shanty houses where he came from. No sewers, water, etc. If you are sick or even dying, you need to pay American dollars to get seen FIRST.I believe there should be a penality for breaking the law, but make it easier to come here. I have mixed feelings..

Titled:
*US AND OTHER GOVERNMENTS SENDING THE WRONG MESSAGE
**TRANSPARENCY OF SWISS AND ALL SECRET BANK ACCOUNTS MUST BEGIN

-------------------------------
-----------------------

By bailing out those parasitic so-called investment bankers, investment advisers, brokers, as well as their accountants, their lawyers, their marketers, and other of their sales agents who aid, abet and facilitate their unrighteous operations - both on and off Wall St - legitimization of continuing future investment schemes is encouraged. In essence, such FUTURE licenses to steal and to destroy an enormously large number of people''s FUTURE financial security can be EXPECTED.

The entire world community and governments thereof, must not only prosecute and mete out long-term prison sentences to said unconscionable financial criminals, but it/they must also act accordingly, for seizure of their monies, their property, their assets, etc.

Immediate freezing and subsequent transparency of foreign and offshore, secret bank accounts MUST also begin without delay!

fsw3~ They SHOULD be targeted for deportation and harassment simply because they are illegals.. No matter what color... But currently most illegals are coming from the south..

All illegals are putting a burden on our infrastructure.. At a rate that our system can not handle..

There is Federal and State income tax on earnings and there is withholding for Social Security - so it is not like the illegal worker is getting a free ride...

Posted by IOWEIGN

Bah ha ha.. Hard to tax cash paying jobs.. So they are getting a FREE RIDE.. Then you look at who is at social service.. mostly Illegals.. I see them daily.. with they food stamps card.. or when I drop my kids off at the bus stop and the illegals are dropping off their kids....

I don''t understand the comment that "white" people aren''t deported. "White" people are deported all the time. The problem is that there aren''t that many people from non-Latin American countries here illegally. Most of them have student or work visas.

There are huge numbers of illegal aliens here in Austin. They don''t have drivers'' licenses or insurance but yet they drive. They have no insurance. They use someone else''s social security number and cause untold grief to the poor unsuspecting victim, yet everyone feels they are maligned?

I have a hard time dealing with all the wrecks where the drivers flee, because they are here illegally, and don''t want to have to render aid. Illegal immigrants even get in-state tuition here in Texas.

Until you''ve had your credit shattered by countless illegal aliens using your social security number, you haven''t got a clue how bad this is.

People should follow the laws. Last year, I stood in line to help my daughter apply for her first U.S. passport. The family in front of us spent quite a while in the office of the passport agent. When we entered, I casually congratulated them on getting their passports as they were leaving. They didn''t get the passports, however, because they weren''t U S citizens. No bother.
Sorry, but getting caught is part of the risk.

By the way, CBS: This story STINKS. It infers a result - hard times in a small town - by inferring that a bankruptcy resulting from an immigration raid is the sole cause.

But the story contains absolutely no evidence as to the underlying cause of the bankruptcy of the company that was raided - indeed, it even notes that "this was just the latest in a string of setbacks for the company".

Yet this story attempts to leave the reader believing that the cause of all harm lies with immigration raids by using the line: "It all started on May 12, 2008, when hundreds of federal immigration authorities raided Agriprocessors and arrested 389 workers.".

The fact is the company broke the law. The easiest, fastest, and safest way to avoid the fines and culpability is to bankrupt the company.

The people who are at fault are the people who owned the company, NOT the immigration raids. I see no mention in this story as to whether this company could no longer find workers locally or, if so, whether they attempted to find AMERICAN workers and relocate them from other locations within our economically-afflicted nation.

This is bogus reporting, CBS.

I despise it when Fox practices it, and it saddens me to see CBS practice it.
