CBS Evening News: California Vote To Reverse Same-Sex Marriage Ruling A Heated Issue
- the bible will never be outdated; it''s like saying classical music is outdated. The inspired words of the bible applies more than ever in our currupt and ever pushing the limits on decency today as the old days.

- if any state legalizes same *** marriage, it should also legalize prostitution. prostitution would bring in more tax revenue and help to control stds if it were made legal and monitored as it is in NV. if christians, or whatever, oppose same *** marriage those religions should have the freedom to not perform same *** marriages within their religion. most realize marriage is a joke anyway since hardly anyone stays married, there are affairs within marriages and sometimes even closet *** or bisexuals. people could just live together and have a legally binding contract to split any wealth should they separate, like a prenup. couples spend a ton of money on weddings only to end up in divorce. makes no sense this marriage thing by anyone be they straight, gay, bisexual, or whatever.

Why do so-called "Christians" have to stick their noses in other peoples lives?
Why can''t they just let other people reach for their own happiness?- Reply to this comment

If so-called "Christians" would just get their noses out of everyone else''s bedrooms they''d be a lot happier.
If you don''t believe in gay marriage, do what I do. Don''t marry someone of the same gender.
In the mean time just mind your own business and let others reach for their own idea of happiness.- Reply to this comment

Long before that homosexuality was common and accepted. The Romans had it right, they knew christianity was whack and homosexuality was natural. - Reply to this comment
- There has never been, nor will there EVER be anything in the Constitution about separation of church and state. It was mentioned in a letter and that''''s IT.

Really? How about article 11 of the Treaty of Tripoli from 1797. It was drafted under Washington and Adams, unanimously agreed upon by congress and signed into law. It states,
"Art. 11. As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen"
Also...the constitution, while it doesn''t explicitly call for separation is in fact a wholly SECULAR document. I challenge you to find the word God or creator or anything of the like to be found once in that document. It was written that way for a reason.
GET EDUCATED!!!! and learn about our great nation before you destroy it with your sectarian ridiculousness. - Reply to this comment

Marriage is between a man and a woman, religion or not. If a man has to insert his genitals into where another man defecates and then tries to tell me that is "s.e.x." then we have a problem. Two women use, what, poles? sticks? It''s revolting and absurd. These people need to realize that they are abominations of everything that normal, religious or not, people do. There is something wrong with them and they need a cure, not a marriage amendment. Repeal this disgusting law and add ones preventing adoption or parenting by these people. Don''t like my view. Tough.

"Separation of church and state" is mandated by the First Amendment of the constitution. From Wikipedia: "The phrase separation of church and state is generally traced to the letter written by Thomas Jefferson in 1802 to the Danbury Baptists, in which he referred to the First Amendment to the United States Constitution as creating a ''''wall of separation'''' between church and state."

- If you people who choose to "love" someone of the same gender would just stop whining that you deserve to be protected and "supported", we wouldn''t have problems. But no, you have to push your "choice", and a poor one at that, on everyone else saying "We''re normal." If you were normal, then you wouldn''t have to make such a fuss over it. It''s not normal, so there you go. You chose your lifestyle, now you have to deal with what goes with it.

- Take ourselves back to the 50''s when media would air public service messages warning of the evils of "The Homosexual". The 50''s fear and hate of *** is similar to the current day fear and hate of paedophilia.
I guess that life style will be excepted in another 50 years. Glad I will be long gone by then. - Reply to this comment
- The bible is outdated!
This is why it is so important to separate State affairs from Church ideology. Imagine politicians with different religious backgrounds in the United States that would want their view of marriage enforced.
Two people who love one another should be able to marry.
Oh, and yes did I mention that the old and new testament are outdated%u2026

We know homosexuals caused the bank crisis and helped hide WMDs in Iraq, they let Bin Laden get away, they''re also responsible for the 11 trillion dollar US deficit, hurricane Katrina and illegal immigration.
Once we ban g@y marriage all our problems will be solved! - Reply to this comment

Jefferson''s wall of separation is indeed evidence to our for-father''s factual intent to separate church and state, but we can get even more explicit than that. Look up the 1797 treaty of Tripoli and read article 11. This was drafted under Washington and Adams...read aloud in congress and unanimously agreed upon, ratified, and is now the law of the land. Also see the "Lemon test." from the supreme court case, Lemon v. Kurtzman. Anyone who seriously believes we were founded a Christian nation is not only spitting in the face of our founders, they are tearing down one of the foremost pillars of our society in America. Tell me...if all men are created equal, how is it that according to you bible thumpers, god only prefers some? - Reply to this comment
- Overturning the gay marriage would be a good thing that would be pleasing to the Lord and he would stop sending pestilence their way.

- "Romans 1:32, Though they know God%u2019s decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them. This is New Testament stuff, not something from the days before Jesus"
what the bible says is totally irrelevant in todays societs. it''s time the world is not run by a 2500 year old book of fiction. The bible should be banned, not marriage between two people who love each other. Stop hiding behind ''the word'' of god, thats just BS. "God'' has never spoken a single word. If this god you love so much did exist i''m pretty sure they would preach love not hate. - Reply to this comment
