This woman seemingly has an inability to answer questions honestly. Katie Couric has to badger her over and over to get a straight answer, and she STILL won''t simply answer.

"Do you believe man causes global warming?" NO - that''s Palin''s answer, and it''s been her answer before. She''s just not willing to say it outright.

Will you work to make abortion illegal, regardless of the circumstances?" YES - that''s Palin''s position, and her nonsense about respecting other''s choices is just that - nonsense.

How can anyone believe a word this woman says? I think the US deserves a woman president - but I''d like to see someone who has an iota of foreign policy and economic knowledge and one who can give a straight answer to a straight question...

Sarah Palin''s comment about hearing Joe Biden since the 2nd grade was certainly a dig - ok. But, it was weird that rather than back up her claim with a comment like, "yea, Joe Biden is old politics" or something, she dove right in to Katie Couric''s perspective that it was a remark about his age - certainly hypocritical considering 72 year old McCain is the top of her ticket. She just doesn''t have the level of thinking on her feet that a person needs to be effective at this level of politics. Worse, she''s getting cocky and angry, and she''s blaming the press for her inability to rise to the occasion. Her reaction to her blunders are as bad or worse than the blunders themselves - if that''s even possible.

Famed conservative columnist George Will told a gathering of Senate aides on Monday that Gov. Sarah Palin is "obviously" not prepared to assume the presidency if necessary.

Appearing at a Senate Press Secretaries Association reception at the Cornerstone Government Affairs office, Will offered a harsh assessment of John McCain''s running mate.

Palin is "obviously not qualified to be President," he remarked, describing her interview on CBS Evening News with Katie Couric as a "disaster."

Prompted in part by the selection of Sarah Palin as the Republican vice presidential candidate, attention is focusing on McCain''s history of skin cancer and the need for more information about his medical records.

"I don''t see anything wrong with opening up the discussion," said Ronald Bronow, former chief of dermatology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. "What we want to know is, what stage is this melanoma? Particularly with the prospect of the vice president becoming the president... If you are an objective physician, you have to be concerned about this."

With just weeks before election day, McCain''s campaign says it has released all of the information needed to make a thorough assessment of his health, and then some.

Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN''s medical correspondent who was one of only a handful of reporters allowed into the review, summarized :

"We were given three hours to go over 1,200 pages of records. That is a lot to go through. It was very sort of cloak and dagger and I''m sure they had their reasons. Given that I had my medical training, I was able to hone in on what it thought was important more quickly. But the pages weren''t numbered, so I had no way of knowing what was missing...

Katie Couric needs to remember how awful and inexperienced she was when she became the anchor for CBS Evening News. Now that she is so "experienced" she should leave behind her "gothca questions" and biased attitudes. Maybe CBS should start a new game show called "Pop Quiz" with Katie as the star.

We have come to a very sorry state when the country holds its breath waiting to see if someone who could possibly be president possesses the requisite knowledge to do the job.

Recently on the Chris Matthews show, David Brooks said that Palin may be able to work up to mediocrity.

...Is this what the United States has come to that in such a complicated world we are willing to accept someone who has to work up to mediocrity? What happend to an expectation of excellence?
