VP Candidate Speaks Frankly With Katie Couric About Feminism, Homosexuality, Abortion And The Environment
- Thank you XmanBorg. If this answer does not highlight the overwhelming stupidity of this woman, I don''t what will. In my head all I''m saying is "what the heck is she talking about?" And guess what? After all that mess about ice age and sea levels the question still remains unanswered. LOL.

- Couric: Can you tell me how Alaska has Relations with Soviets and what qualifies you as a diplomat with the Russians.
Palin: Well just recently is currently believed that the ocean levels rose and fell several times in the past. During extended cold periods, tremendous volumes of water are deposited on land in the form of ice and snow, which can cause a corresponding drop in sea level. The last "ice age" occurred around 12-15,000 years ago. During this period the shallow seas now separating Siberia from North America near the present day Bering Strait dropped about 300 feet and created a 1,000 mile wide grassland steppe, linking Asia and North America together with the "Bering Land Bridge". Across this vast steppe, plants and animals traveled in both directions, and humans entered the Americas. So that makes us all Russians because we all walked over that land together holding hands to North America and it makes us all Kin-folk in other words we are all related and one big family. - Reply to this comment
- If I crammed for a few weeks, I would be prepared to answer questions as well. The debate is not going to be good, because again, she has been scripted and her real thoughts and ideas will not be heard..
Give me a break and step down now. Its funny how they still won''t let anyone ask her quesitons or how mccain changed the debate style to fit her. - Reply to this comment

- Susanlynne1, question: How is asking someone to name a newspaper they read on a regular basis irresponsible? A newspaper!? I honestly don''t know how Kate Couric resisted the urge to scream while interviewing this woman. That stupid comment on Biden''s age, then she defended it so horribly, "I''m the new face, the new energy" are these not the same things they use to attack Obama? His supposed in-experience? Hmm. I would hate to think there are actually people out there that listen to this woman and believe she is even remotely aware of what it takes to be a leader.

- I just read Palin''s entire interview. Oh my GOD! She is REALLY clueless. What a LOSER! I''m going to watch the debate tonight. It should be very interesting to watch her performance.

- cCain got his 84 millions from the US Dept. of Treasury. With the economic downturn, Sen. Obama''s camp, relying on donors like you and me, will be hurt. We are in the last days of campaign. This election is not locked in yet. Let''s all give Sen. Obama one last push by donating $5, $10,... $50 whatever you can. We must not let our nation to fall into the disastrous hands of McCain. You can skip a cup of coffee, or a movie. Please help yourself (big!) and your country by helping Sen. Obama to win this race. http://www.barackobama.com/index.php

- Palin cannot be as stupid as she comes across. But she (and her defenders) are placing blame for her image everywhere except where it belongs. Her handlers only have so much to work with, and one job of journalsists is to expose weakness. The fact that asking a person claims to be ready to lead the free world at a moment''s notice throws her off balance is a big huge problem for the American people if this ticket wins the election. John McCain clearly didn''t think this decision through. He says he''ll put x, y and z before winning the election - apparently not true. He clearly picked Palin on the basis of winning popularity rather than basic ability. (Blatantly hypocritical juxtaposed with his Paris Hilton comparison with Barack). Thank God it looks like his foolish plan is backfiring. They say his dip in the polls is from the economy, and I''m sure it is partially - but Palin''s performance - or lack thereof has certainly done its damage as well. I do not think he can recover no matter what he does.

OBAMA/BIDEN 08! - Reply to this comment
- Why hasn''t Palin released her tax return information yet? It makes me feel she has something to hide. After McCain''s CNN interview this AM, I just want to implore all of the candidates: Answer the questions you''re asked! Don''t criticize your opponent, don''t spew meaningless rhetoric and sound bites- just listen to the questions and answer them truthfully. If you don''t know the answer, it''s okay to say that too. I am so sick of this manipulation- be straight with us! You wonder why Americans don''t trust politicians- we just don''t have any clue what we''re getting!
At least with Obama/Biden, I feel there''s an attempt to level with us. - Reply to this comment
- I''d be interested to know where you get your information StX. I have not political affiliation right now. Frankly, I''m not happy with either of our choices, Dem or Rep; but I will point out where I perceive there to be amble factual evidence of unequal treatment. That is the case with the Couric/Palin interview. Only a fool would dispute a fact when it''s in writing, smack in front of his face.

- Re-reading the transcript, I believe strongly that a good deal of Couric''s comments were irresponsible, and a few of the questions she posed to Mrs. Palin she might never have asked a male candidate. She also interrupts Palin mid-answer, on more than one occasion. She was crass in pushing home her point --although I don''t believe she really had a point, just saw it as an opportunity to belittle Palin -- concerning her foreign policy experience and Alaska''s proximity to Russia. I''ve seen Couric during other candidate interviews; these interviews are by and large "puff pieces." With Palin, however, she decided to play hard ball and finally be the journalist she purports to be, instead of the news reporting drone she really is. If this isn''t a case of Couric kicking the ladder away from whatever glass ceiling she''s convinced herself she''s reached, then I don''t know what is. Shame on Couric for letting CBS'' pitiful bid to pump-up it''s ratings color her judgement. Terms like "corporate stooge" and "media puppet" rush to mind.

- Who taught her how to answer questions?
I''ll be more embarrassed for our country if she''s elected than I have been the last 8 years. - Reply to this comment
- We should question anyone who call Sarah Palin smart, ready, an energy expert, an executive, a Mayor a Governor.
Thanks to Katie Couric, we are finding out what Fair and Balance mean. If it was for McCain, Sean Hannity, and Rush Limbaugh and all those crazy folks who keep coming on TV to tell us how ready she is, we will be stuck again.
Thanks but no thanks. I am really scared for America. - Reply to this comment
- Palin is corrupt, no two ways about it.
The Republican vice presidential candidate, Sarah Palin and Alaskan officials drew on the work of scientists known to be sceptical about global warming - including some whose work was funded by the oil industry - to back efforts to stop polar bears being protected as an endangered species, it was reported today........UPI - Reply to this comment
