Here''s the quote from the Palin speech.

"I told Congress, %u2018Thanks, but no thanks,%u2019 on that Bridge to Nowhere. %u2018If our state wanted a bridge%u2019, I said, %u2018we%u2019d build it ourselves%u2019."

Publius77,

How do you listen to her speech and arrive at such a conclusion? She said NO TO THE BRIDGE TO NOWHERE...means she refused the money. She should tell the truth OR stop leaving so much out that you don''t trust anything she says...including the plane and Ebay.

parrots121:

Here''s a quick little primer for you:

Fact 1: At some level Governor Palin showed support for the bridge project while she was running in the race for Governor of Alaska.

Fact 2: Congress made the money for the Gravina Island Bridge available to Alaska, although it didn''t have to be used for that bridge.

Fact 3: The State of Alaska already had the federal funds in hand when Gov. Palin took office.

Fact 4: Governor Palin put a stop to the bridge project and appropriated the funds for more reasonable uses.

Can you produce some evidence that Palin claims to have been "always against" earmarks? Or are you just "parroting" something you read on Daily Kos?

The question dear AMERICAN PUBLIC AT LARGE is not about multi-tasking or whether Sarah Palin is a role model or wanted a bridge or not.

The bottomline is, after old man McCain dies in office (I''ve read it''s a 40% chance) SHOULD a woman wihtout even an advanced degree in anything much less law or political science, who takes pleasure from shooting animals from helicopters and who asks her constituents to "pray to god" that pipelines are built have her finger on the "Atomic Button" that might determines the life or death of all civilization??????

What would she do? Give the baby a bottle then send the nukes over while asking everyone to pray that the "bad guys" bombs malfunction?

No way. Give me a Harvard grad who''s worked his way up the hard way - who''s been around international law and policymakers at least some (who is an attentive father and family man) and whose calm and even demeanor and focus on diplomacy
makes me proud to be an American. Thank you.

"The average CEO of a large U.S. company made roughly $10.8 million in 2006, or 364 times that of an average worker, who made an average of $29,544."

"In 1989, for instance, U.S. CEOs of large companies earned 71 times more than the average worker."

CEOs didn''t work harder in 2006 compared to 1989 and the average worker certainly isn''t work less.

As we talk about pigs and lipstick, please keep in mind THE REAL ISSUES!

The Neocons and their minions like to talk about class ONLY when it suits their purposes. They are the first to cry about re-distribution of wealth. They like to mention this because it conjures up images of undeserved people receiving something from people who are working. What they haven''t told you is that this is the case but it is THE RICH being subsidized by THE MIDDLE CLASS and POOR.

You don''t believe me?

1.) Debt - wages have been increasing at a level FAR BELOW inflation for the middle class and poor. Debt levels have skyrocketed since the 1980s. This is because debt has subsidized the abnormally low wage. Debt is what cost-of-living salary increases used to be.

2.) War - Never before in the history of America have the rich lowered their taxes at the same time they''ve declared war. Never. The rich benefit the most from winning a war, but Bush somehow decided that their proportionate amount should be lowered and consequently the middle class/poor increased. What''s more disturbing is that at the same time taxes have been decreased to the rich, salary increases have skyrocketed.

Look at these.

Even if there is so much as a single grain of truth to this $233 million. fallicy some left wing pinko CBS reporter offers, it still pales in comparisson to the $750,000,000+ dollars in federal earmarks NObama has been successful in getting to help pay for all those votes he bought during the primaries.

Yeap, almost a million dollars a day in free government cheese for every day he has been a Senator to pay for Demotard lemming votes.

GOPendejo,

I am trying to forget 911, not remember it. After listening to Bush and Guiliani repeat 911,911, and then use it to undermine the our rights and start illegal police actions around the globe, which have resulted in about 250000 Iraqi deaths, you shouldn''t be surprised at how much hatred there is for this administration and for anyone who thinks any of it was good for the world.

George Bush has done more to put us in the soup line than any President could, and to think we still consider the military/oil solution as credible.

The solution isn''t to drill for more oil, burn more oil, and kill more people to secure the oil, the solution is to evolve to a new system where we understand all systems are interdependant, and that we are just scratching the surface of understanding how these systems relate to each other, and what the effect of actions can be.

So on 911, remember we armed Bin Laden, we taught him to fight our war, and are absolutly responsible for the death and destruction of Iraq because of 911.

People running for office who speak the words 911, are the type of people who council fear, territoriality, and aggression. The old brain, reptilian brain in us all...

Let''s evolve a bit, maybe try that front lobe out, see what might happen.

So Palin put the final nail in the coffin for the Bridge to Nowhere, then allocated the funds to other infrastructure needs, like bridges and roads. I thought the Democrats were in favor of improving our infrastructure. In fact, I seem to recall Democrats arguing that money spent on the military should have been spent on the I-35 bridge that collapsed in Minnesota and Obama only days ago noting that our infrastructure was in dire need of repair.

Ultimately, there is a fundamental difference between "spending" and "wasteful spending." How much of Obama''s $900+ million in earmark requests can bear the scrutiny that Palin''s have received?

What does Sarah Palin and ABC News have in common? A belief in censorship! But unlike Palin, ABC News gets away with it. Informative, legitimate posts that criticize McCain, Sarah Palin, or the Republican Party suddenly disappear. Not just one. Not just mine. But is it any wonder, I mean, guess who gets to interview Sarah--the Republican Party. Oops! I mean, ABC News. Sorry, I confused the two for a moment. And people wonder why Republicans win elections? Come on Democrats, let''s give them hell. Go to ABCnews.go.com, find a relevant article, and post!

This link will take you to Sen. Barack Obama''s Blueprint for Change wherein he sets forth in detail the real changes he will make, if elected President of the United States, and how these changes will be implemented. I believe all those who support Senator Obama can help get him elected by printing out as many copies of the booklet as you can and distributing them to friends and neighbors. Remember, we have less than 2 months to bring Senator Obama''s message of real change to the American People. Obama/Biden 2008!!!

You must be kidding, because in Church, they can pray for anything they want, and praying to prosper from a valuable pipeline sounds perfectly normal, doing that at work would be crossing the line, but this is at church, leave the woman alone, she can pray however she wants, we have freedom of religion, unless you are a lib that loves to take away rights (such as 2nd Amendment)

Our American is still divided by race. We can bleed blood in battle, we can worship side by side in church but a man''s character is limited to want he can do simply because he has a better plan for this country that has stalled us for the last eight years. The only thing that Barack has ever asked for is a chance and your support. You allowed a dumb Texan which ran a campaign only on a name and no plan, which you also are a part of his decision making regardless if you admit it or not (gas prices, unemployment, etc.) the list goes on and on. All of this name calling and wish thinking that this woman is going to revive your party, you are thinking along the same line as George W "WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION"

I''m reading about all of the attacks on Obama not one person mentioned John McCain involvement with Charles Keating III. In 1987 McCain along with 4 other men soon became known as the "Keating Five". These men assisted in a plot to provide protection of Keating from federal auditors looking into Licoln Savings and Loans. These were in deep pockets from Keating so they used their influence and power to provide a protective blanket for their friend. Their plot caused this bank to swindle investors mainly elderly citizens out of their life savings. This is the MAVERICK that you want running the country. PLEASE
Do your research before you judge a man''s race to determine if he can run this country.

As an American woman, do you share the fear of what Ms. Palin and her professed beliefs and proven record could lead to for us and for our present or future daughters? To date, she is against
*** education, birth control, the pro-choice platform, environmental protection, alternative energy development, gun control, the separation of church and state, and polar bears--to say nothing of her complete lack of real preparation to become the second-most-powerful person on the planet.

You are invited to reply here: womensaynopalin@gmail.com (@gmail.com) with a
short, succinct message about why you, as a woman living in this country, do not support this candidate as second-in-command for our nation.*

Please include your name (last initial is fine), age, and place ofresidence.

We will post your responses on a blog called "Women Against Sarah Palin," which we intend to publicize as widely as possible. Please send us your reply at your earliest conveniencehe greater the volume of responses we receive, the stronger our message will be.
