What if one of the Foos'' children or even Mrs. Foo had an unexpected pregnancy and could not have an abortion because Roe v. Wade was overturned. This would make a huge difference in their economic status.

I would be interested to know if the accountant figured in the tax on medical insurance premiums and the credit for medical insurance premiums that the McCain plan would entail? For famiies with children, this will most likely result in an increase in taxes under the McCain plan.

WE are paying taxes to run the country but the problem is that the republicans are running so much debt that the American people are in so much trouble with this it will never get better. I hated old nute but if he was running i would vote for him. at least he knew what this is all about. You canot borrow money that you cant pay back. Look at the housing thing you cant make a loan like they have it will not work. The only thing happened is wall street made a lot of money that should not have get a grip the tax payer is fed up with this[I DONT EITHER CANADATE WILL SOLVE THIS]

The Wilsons are at the other end of the spectrum, earning $213,000. That puts them in the 28 percent bracket. If Gilbert''s business improves, his income could push him into the 33 percent bracket, which under Obama''s plan would jump to 36 percent of income.

Anthony Mason, If "if,ands and buts were candy and nuts, it would be christmas everyday". Why would you DELIBERATELY mislead people in your report. You presented factual information on the 32,000 and 64,000 income families and then reported "if gilberts business improves...." What is wrong with you people? Is it responsible journalism to do an unfair misleading story for America to make an intelligent decision for the highest office in the land? this just shows how irresponsible the news media is. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME! You should be FIRED!

Let''s see,......

Robin Hood steals $5,000 from the working rich Wilson''s. He uses $2,200 of the Wilson''s earnings to buy the working poor Beachams votes. And, he uses another $500 of the Wilson''s earnings to buy votes from the working middle class Foos family.

I suppose that leaves $2,300 for Robin to buy votes from non working families.

You can put a new American flag pin on the lapel and all the lipstick you want on Robin Hood. But, he''s still a Socialist vote buying thief who''s most notable work has been community agitating. I bet it wasn''t difficult convincing unwed mothers with 8 kids from 8 different fathers that their situation was the governments fault.

This is going to be a looooooooooooooooong campaign. Surely people will see through Robin Hoods BS by November 4...........................

By the way, if you want them to report the news fairly, you can call CBS at (212) 975-4114 and ask for Mason''s ext. and let him know he can''t play with the numbers and get away with it.

Capital gains due not (as now) apply toward primary residences (as now). Get your facts straight. Everyone pays capital gains now on home sales of non-primary residence.

Here''s what EVERYONE in America should be concerned about...CAPITAL GAINS TAX. MCCAIN 0% on home sales up to $500,000 per home (couples). McCain does not propose any change in existing home sales income tax. OBAMA 28% on profit from ALL home sales. (How does this affect you? If you sell your home and make a
profit, you will pay 28% of your gain on taxes. If you are heading toward retirement and would like to down-size your home or move into a retirement community, 28% of the money you make from your home will go to taxes. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2008/apr/29/capital-gains-taxes-demystified/

Timandlib and others are correct! I was also irritated that they did not point out any difference in the highest income family, only that their taxes would go up under Obama if they made more money. So would everybody, generally! It was very frustrating!

I think Anthony Mason is an idiot.

He never said what the tax differential would be for either the middle or the high income couple.

He posted the higher tax rates being proposed and never stated the income required to get to that marginal bracket.

He said the higher income couple would be in a higher bracket if their income went up. DUH! He didn''t say how much their income would have to go up to be in that higher bracket. I assume $250,000.

Guess what, if that low income couple increases their income, they will be a higher tax bracket.

I found the simplistic report to be insulting to their audience.
