OK, I looked at your graphs and I wrote TWO FULL POSTS of my analysis. You could at least ACKNOWLEDGE what I wrote.

- drjack, Loser of historic proportions? You clowns are in such denial. You losers have to go all the way back to the mess of Viet Nam.Basically everyone admits that was a mistake. Why is it you can''t ever admit your mistakes? And for that matter tell Americans what you have done to make this country better. And why am I debating with a paid troll.

- Back in college, 60-70% of my classmates were female. Where are the males?...especially white males?

When were you in college? I was in the early 1980''s. I remember talking to another white male student who was as confused as I was to see a startling number of Japanese students. He asked, "Why are there so many Japanese students here?" I said, "Don''t they have colleges in Japan?"
Now we know why. THEY WERE LEARNING WHAT WE KNOW TO TEACH IT BACK IN JAPAN. - Reply to this comment

1-Republican controlled House and Senate
2-the tech boom of the 90s is what created the strong economic growth. I know. I was there. Der Schlickmeister did not wag the dog and create jobs. No sitting presidend can do that..rep or dem. - Reply to this comment
- Graph 4: Wars cause deficits. FDR had the same problem. GHB fought the Gulf War, plus we were still spending our way out of the mildest recession in history. GWB had to deal with 9/11 and the Taliban. What war did Clinton fight? crickets chirping
Graph 5: Wow, I''m surprised the GDP grew so much during GWB. Almost equal to Clinton, which isn''t surprising considering the speculative bubble of the Clinton years.
All in all, these graphs show GWB did a better job than I thought.
Thanks for the info. It all proves that CLINTON REALLY WASN''T THAT GREAT. - Reply to this comment

OK, I''ll accept that as a feeble attempt at a summary. I''ll take a look.
Here''s what I see:
Graph 1: On average, unemployment is lower under GWB than GHB. Then when you notice they''ve played the standard trick of NOT starting the base of the graph at zero, I don''t see much difference with Clinton, either.
Graph 2: Obviously these are cumulative for each president - not mentioned in the legend. Yah, Clinton "created" a BUNCH of dotcom jobs. GWB is ending his eight years with more positive growth than GHB did. Too bad most of those Clinton jobs were filled by H1-B visa holders.
Graph 3: THERE''S THE MONEY SHOT! Look at the HUGE speculative bubble starting in 1995. Notice how it went FLATLINE in 1999-2000, just like I told you. GWB did a MASTERFUL job of keeping it from dropping more than it did when the bubble burse, PLUS the 9/11 shock. And all the time since 2000, the market has remained WAY ABOVE the trend line that had been established before 1995. - Reply to this comment
- I am one of those underemployed. I lost my high salary job in 2002 from a large IT company and have not been able get back that salary. Plus I am a decorated combat veteran. It is a shame in this country that a decorated combat veteran with a college education cannot get nothing but a minimum wage job. What is ironic is that my wife is only a high school graduate and earns 2-3 times as much and is an administrative assistant. I get interviews, but turned away. Yet ever where I go women and blacks dominate the workplace. Today''s education and work culture cater to women and blacks. Back in college, 60-70% of my classmates were female. Where are the males?...especially white males?

- Reagan''s "prosperity" came back to haunt us in the name of "increased indebtedness" Clinton, being pushed by the Repubs, managed to get us on the path to paying it off, only to be sabotaged by Junior and his fake war.

- ''''Dont trust anyone over 30'''' was a favorite saying of the Boomers in the 1960s. You might adopt it as your own.

I was referring to the deficit under Clinton versus HW and GW Bush. That''s the amount that gets added every year to the debt that you''ll have to pay to help Reagan and Bush Jr win reelection. Even though, in Reagans case, that was ''ancient history'' in your parlance. It may be ancient history, but your paying for it today just the same (plus interest).

- once upon a time, you had a chance to maintain your status as a member of a first world nation. That was by electing Gore

YAWN! Ancient history. The "never ending rise" of the economy ALREADY ENDED by the summer of 2000. If Gore had been elected, things would have fallen EVEN WORSE because Gore was as dorky as George H Bush. Remember, this was BEFORE he won a Nobel Prize for putting solar collectors on the roof of his mansion.
Plus, the majority of the nation was PO''ed at the Democrats over Clinton''s relentless lying and cheating.
Kerry would have been even worse.
You''re pathetic for dredging up such tired, ancient garbage from the Yahoo! message boards. - Reply to this comment

- Clinton was a very good President. 22 million jobs were created under his tenure. Bush might end up with negative jobs created at the end of 8 years. It''s hard to believe this guy held 2 terms. Clinton reduced the welfare roles, and left a budget with a surplus.

- Translation: once upon a time, you had a chance to maintain your status as a member of a first world nation. That was by electing Gore as a continuation of the Clinton battle against the national debt.
That ended with GW Bush. His reelection drove the final nail in the coffin. Hence, America''s new slogan, ''ya want fries wid dat?'' - Reply to this comment
- Okay txgrouch, I guess your stuck on the thing about when a person was born is connected to how many problems the country has. Oh well. Do this for me, I don''t know how to do this but I''m sure you or someone out there does, make a copy of your comments about all this stuff about babyboomers and put it in a safe place. Keep it there for twenty or thirty years and then get it out and read the comments people were making back then. I''ll bet you you will be embarrassed at how naive you were back then. But unfortunately I''ll be dead so I won''t ever hear an apology about all that you said, "I told you so" would be my reply.
