It%u2019s obvious from your comments that you (and many others on this site I might add) would rather surrender to invaders than to fight back with the most, if not ONLY, effective method/weapon available.

Posters commenting on this article repeatedly refer to these suicide bombers as cowards because they choose to sacrifice their lives for their cause/belief, while calling American troops heroes.

Taking advantage of complete military superiority, to defeat a virtually defenseless people/country, especially one that has NOT attacked us, and could not even if they wanted to, requires very little risk or bravery.

Expecting those lightly armed resistance fighters, to come out and face armored tanks, helicopters, and jet bombers is absurd.

A small child (David), armed only with a slingshot, defeating a Giant (Goliath), armed with sword and armor, happens only in works of fiction.

Initially a ban on weaponry has to be in place. When are troops are drawn down, it will be up to the government in Iraq to implement gun control. Like I said, this is too sensitive with no easy answer. I liked seeing that it was 50,000 of Iraq''s troops that implemented the latest operation of removing Al Qaeda on the border of Iran.

I didn''t really read the previous posts, I read the article on women suicide bombers. I support your post about automatic weapons or anything that shoot''s at our men. I was referring to a future Iraq who has little dependence on the U.S. for sercurity. I mentioned hower4''s post not because I agree with their mindset, only the statement struck me as a "scary" perspective to Iraqies who have already been controlled by weapons. They definetly need a weapon control system and that will take years. So this is a sensitive issue because it can swing two ways in perception. For now, I''m for protecting our men and women.

I''m just curious about this statement, I was wondering if this is what Saddam had done to his people? Was he so successful in being a murderous tyrant because his police and military controlled the weapons? I do know that he controlled the elections this way, guns and corruption made sure to keep him in control for decades.
