I am a 100% disabled vet and i have to say they have done very well by me. Medical coverage is 100%, no copays, retirement and disability pay, full military benefits. I believe in giving credit where it is due.

Well patriot, I''m guessing you are Vietnam era and got a much better deal than those that followed. Whereas you got the GI bill (if you are Vietnam veteran) others got means tested medical and VEAP, hell_ I had to buy my own uniforms out of my first couple of paychecks.

I just try to be fair about things and beig a retired vet i am pro military. If someone does something wrong i want them held accountable, but i would never blame everyone for a few bad people.

So these 18 year olds are smart enough to pick a Presidant but gullible enough to fall for a recruiter?

Seeing how they abandon the veterans that gave so much, an army of one really is a fitting slogan.

The military is on of the shadiest institutions in the country. I have seen too many times the military lying and manipulating young soldiers and prospective soldiers. The military is supposed to be honorable, but I do not see much honor in any of what they do.

Americas All Volunteer Force is burnt out.

Consequently Army recruiters are under pressure to get front door volunteer numbers up and in for service. Once in lots of back door tools available to press gang into longer service.

FRONT DOOR.

DoD policy directs military services use enlistment, accession, and reenlistment, educational entitlements, and retention bonuses as incentives in meeting All Volunteer Force personnel requirements.
New recruits of any active commitment are automatically transferred to inactive reserves called Individual Ready Reserve (IRR) for all remaining time to fulfill a full 8 year commitment requirement in peacetime. Failing to report to IRR recalls as directed is a federal offense resulting in prosecution, jail, and denial of federal employment and benefits such as education benefits, student grants and loans.

BACKDOOR DRAFT.

Paragraph 10a of all US military enlistment contracts states; A. FOR ALL ENLISTEES. If this is my initial enlistment, I must serve a total of 8 years. Any part of that service not served on active duty must be served in a Reserve Component unless I am sooner discharged.

So once in military you are legally bound to stay if ordered beyond your active enlistment under STOP LOSS, even beyond 8 years. If released, you are subject to recall to active duty at anytime due to personnel shortages, war, or conflicts for up to 8 years.

A politically convenient way to avoid activating any Selective Service System.

I''''m amazed at the hypocrisy you display. Instead of being outraged (support the troops?), you use this as an indictment of Democrats (who you choose to portay as Anti-American). EVERY AMERICAN should be outraged by this type of behavior. Thankfully, these idiots are few. And no, I do NOT see this as an indictment of the military in general. Only idiots such as yourself are foolish enough to use THAT broad a brush to judge people.

''demslie2u'' is a bushite. These kind of people don''t question anything the Republicon party tells them. The lies, perversions, deceitfulness, and crookedness of that political party will be the downfall of America and as our ''ship'' is sinking, they''ll go down whinning that the LIBERALS caused it all. Amazing, simply AMAZING!

Despising a policy and hating the military itself is a distinction that you are obviously incapable of making.

Most of these recruiters are under a lot of pressure to get X amount of recruits. Most, not all will say anything to get an individual to sign up. Kind of like the bankers who were pushing bad loans.

This story has one purpose. To give Anti-American Democrats another reason to Hate the entire Military. Remember, O''''''''Bama went to IRAQ and told the Commanders there to take their plans for Victory and Shove it. Democrats can''''''''t wait to see the Vets come home so they can spit on them and call them "Baby Killers" just like Democrats did at the end of Vietnam. Its Jimmy Carter Military Hating time Again.

Now IF I remember the Obama trip YOU are a LIAR! Do you understand you pathetic loser? YOU are a LIAR! The leader of Iraq AGREED with OBAMA and He, Obama, NEVER raised the issue of withdrawal with him. If you fascist can''t tell the truth how do you defend against the people in this nation that you have LIED too? Iraq WAS and will always be a fascist LIE! It never had to be and should never have happened... that we NOW know. We also know there is ONE man running for President who could not see that. There is also one running for President who not only SAW it but TOLD us so before ONE Man died. TRY being honest, it''s better for all concerned! Sieg Heil Bush

One bad apple and now the rest will be looked at as dishonorable like him. I have met many fine recruiters that do their job with honor and respect.

No one should blame the recruiters they are doing what they have to do to meet the rediculous goals set for them. We are fighting a War based on LIES and is nothing but a fraud. No one wants to die for that but like the people pulled into this web, people desperately need money these days. We have gotten to a point economically in this nation that citizens are selling their bodies to the military to provide for their families. Anyone who thinks that is the kind of military we need is out of their minds.

You''re right on 1 count: This story DOES have 1 purpose--to tell the truth about the deceit that SOME recruiters are using to enlist young men and women into the military.

I''m amazed at the hypocrisy you display. Instead of being outraged (support the troops?), you use this as an indictment of Democrats (who you choose to portay as Anti-American). If any of you think this is bad just wait! With the mental condition of John McCain, if somehow he does become commander in chief, it will grow much worse. There isn''t a war anywhere that McCain doesn''t want to fight... it doesn''t matter if we are lied into it or if it has NOTHING to do with our nation or our security? NO! McCain is going to fight that war and win it... when he runs out of troops he''ll just increase the bonus or hire more paid help. Of course with his economic policies that my be the ONLY paying job you can get outside of domestic help!

The Bush neocons are pulling out all the stops to get enough cannon fodder to feed their illegal occupation in Iraq, but now even the cannon fodder is getting wise to this bogus administration and their lying surrogates. - Vet

Three years ago, KHOU overheard Sgt. Thomas Kelt leaving a threatening voice mail for a young man who wanted to cancel an appointment he''d made to meet with him.

It said: "you fail to appear and we''ll have a warrant."

Kelt did receive a reprimand, but he has since been promoted and put in charge of another Army recruiting station. "

Yep. And after he finishes his military career service--that may be Senator Kelt, running for President. LOL

W-H-O-O-E-E. I am just sitting here wondering if or how many people fell for that line of horse manure. And if anyone did, there is gonna be
L-A-W-S-U-U-I-T-S all over the place.

The lawsuits would get thrown out. No Judge who wants to stay on the bench would open this can of worms--not to mention the military will claim it is an internal affair --that is why they get promoted and go back to doing it--it WORKS. And our military needs the bodies.

If you do--bet they don''t pull in the recruits or make the numbers like he does. It takes a certain amount of guile and deception to keep this thing going when it is so unpopular. That, and a bad economy--will net more cannon fodder.
