African-Americans Make Up 49 Percent Of New HIV Cases
- The black culture promotes promiscuity a lot through their rap and videos. I have black children who are 9 years old in my neighborhood who act these motions out in front of me and listen to the nastiest music I''ve ever hear. The white culture is not better in their rock music and country music. I think we need to stop promoting *** this way to our children because they think and act like animals with ***. It''s no wonder since they believe they were evolved from monkeys anyway with the unproven garbage our schools teach them about themselves. They also try to teach them how to put condoms on bananas but somehow those condoms don''t get used for what these idiots thought they would. You have to stop brainwashing people into thinking all this fornication is normal, then maybe they wouldn''t be out scr**ing everything in sight because they are expected to and catching HIV/AIDS and other STDs. Your body is a temple, created by God for His glory, stop abusing it!

- And to get out of the bleeding heart thing, who here isn''t tired of paying out the wazoo for health care benefits?? It''s like half our paycheck goes to that, when it shouldn''t! A government should take care of it''s hard working people!

- Hey Patriot12436, I''m heading out to exercise and wanted to tell you before I go that I''m all for VETERAN''S (and their families because they paid too) having 100% coverage. Men and women in the service of our country have earned that right and so much more. I reserve this opinion strictly for those put in harm''s way, our Politician''s serve our country, but if they''re not shot at, well they''re in the same boat as me.

- Are you willing to loose your right''''s for Universal Healthcare? I''''ll be first in line then to take away the right''''s of smokers, obese people, and known risk-taking activities. If I have to pay for their poor health then I should have a say in how other people conduct their lives. Barack''''s plan included illegal alians as well, look it up. I would have no problem helping other''''s if it is not due to irresponsible habits, I mentioned this about children. As for the elderly in this country, dying from natural causes is part of life and if they were so short-sighted not to see to their future I should pay for that? Living and dying from natural causes are a part of the life-cycle for human''''s, drug''''s that prolong lives are benefits, not right''''s.

You are a cold woman my dear. And though a good portion of me agrees with your sentiment, what would you do with a child who has no insurance, and who has never had a bad habit in their life, and needs surgery? Would you deny that child surgery because you don''t want to pay for the smokers and over eaters? Look at Europe and Canada. They have universal health care, it WORKS. What about our rights? You do realize that right now your taxes are going to help pay for a drug addict to recieve treatment right? Your tax dollars are going to things FAR worse than public health care right now believe me. - Reply to this comment
- And ccdsswrkr08, a few grammatical comments...I am the forum grammar queen.
First of all, it''''s "lose" not "loose". Loose is when your pants don''''t fit. Lose relates to loss of something.
"Rights" does not have an apostrophe. It''''s not "right''''s". "Others" also does not have an apostrophe. Congratulations, you used "Barack''''s" plan correctly...it shows possession. "Humans also does not have an apostrophe, neither does "drugs."

That was good! Writing in this forum sometimes shows my lack of grammar skills, and since your offering it for free, I''ll take it! It didn''t cost me or anyone else. - Reply to this comment

I am so down with that! I work my a$$ off everyday to pay for my health care and I am so sick of people whinning they can''t afford it. Are you affording cable, internet, beer, cigarettes, movies? I am sure you are so cry me a river.
The sense of "entitlement" (which is what they are called in social services) is absurd. When did we become a communist country?!?! It is not the goverment''s job, or the founding fathers intent I am sure, to take care of every single lazy a$$ person who doesn''t want to work or pay for health care out of their own pocket.
As for this story, COVER IT UP AMERICA!!!!! When will people get a clue? My husband and I both had AIDS tests before we ever even considered unprotected ***. It takes 5 min. for the test and 2 weeks for the results, don''t you think it is worth it to have a healthy life time? - Reply to this comment

- ProMacLaura, Because these people aren''t "innocent?" They choose to live the lifestyle they do...whether it''s overeating, smoking, etc. Did you know that Japan is now urging companies to get their employees in shape, and the overall effect has been better health? You could never do that here in America...that would be discrimination against fat people!!

I do, however, agree with you. If people choose risky behaviors, than why do my tax dollars go to support them? If someone wants to smoke, TAX THE HECK OUT OF CIGARETTES to pay for their healthcare. While we''re at it, let''s tax MickyDee! I''m totally in agreement with that new rule in New York that requires nutritional content be posted in restaurants... - Reply to this comment

It isn''t all about being black - no matter how much Sharpton and Jackson would like to think.

Point is, we cant choose who it goes to and who it doesnt. So, do we let innocent people suffer because we don''''t want our tax dollars going to someone who smokes to get health care? Or how about an elderly person who has many medical problems but has no money for their prescriptions because their job didn''''t have a good pension or retirement plan (which many don''''t these days). Your comment was poorly thought out.

- It''''s called the Buffalo Theory. If you limp, you''''re lunch. Old people and sick people die everyday. can I afford to heal or treat them all? Oh, please spare me the truths of life. I''''m in Law Enforcement. I see things everyday that you, as a taxpayer, don''''t want to see. In fact, pay me to keep you from seeing or dealing with reality. Spare me your platitudes and get a grip on life. A Jewish carpenter once said that you will always have the sick and the poor. The only thing you can do is change what you can change. You can only change you, not me. How''''s it going?

I''m a social worker ya goober! Ya think I don''t see the drudges of society too? The thing is...everyone things ''Oh I could never be in that position''....truth is....yeah you could. People don''t realize how quickly they could end up with nothing. I''m the first to admit that 70% abuse the system when it comes to social services, and welfare, but there is also that 30% who don''t. - Reply to this comment

Guess what, I do have acid reflux and the medicine I take for it is paid for with my money not the taxpayers.

Take a look around lady. There are many, well educated, college grads, who don''t smoke, don''t drink, and eat healthy, that can''t find jobs today. Hence, can''t afford health care. What you don''t realize, is that all of us are only a few paychecks away from being one of these people who would benefit from universal health care. Have you ever been sick, and not had the money (through no fault of your own) to see a Dr? I take it that you haven''t. It''s not fun. Sure there are a TON of people who I wouldn''t want my tax dollars going to treat, but there are also a TON of people who I think it should go to. - Reply to this comment

That probably has nothing to do with being white, most likely some kind of acid reflux thing...still, you should get that looked at. Its not normal to have that kind of reaction to someones opinion.

I''m a white woman and your comment makes me want to throw up. It''s people like you that make me afraid for Barack''s life and I''m voting for McCain.
About healthcare, if what the article states is true then the Black Community has got to step up to the plate and address this for their own peace of mind and their children''s.
On another note, I am not a supporter of universal healthcare because the people in the USA are way to compulsive about everything. Many of our diseases are caused by smoking, drugs, obesity and unhealthy sexual habits. So to force the taxpayer to pay for other''s bad habits is just plain wrong. For myself, I don''t smoke, I eat right, no drug''s, I exercise regularly, and I''m faithful to my spouse (sorry for those who have unfaithful spouses). So please don''t expect me to want to open my wallet for you and pay for your medical bills, I have my own thank you and paying for them is a responsibility unto myself.
So I guess the only people I would want to help with my taxpayer money are children who have diseases that was caused by none of the above. The parent''s out there who parent with food, SHAME ON YOU, and if your kid get''s diabetes from these pour habits then YOU PAY FOR IT. - Reply to this comment

I spent three years in Philippines and have a friend who ie retiring from the pentagon and building a home there. He loves it, has a philipina wife. I am still concerned about the NPA attitude against Americans in that country. Vietnam has made large strides towards well not democracy but at least the American dream, lots of American comopanines investing there.I haven''t been back there yet so can''t really say whether living would be good or bad. I would think with their poverty level and having a good retirement could live quite comfortably there as well. - Reply to this comment
